Back to School Means Back to Organizing! Here are some tips to help your favorite student (and you) stay organized now and throughout the school year.
- Establish a good routine for and with you child for homework, chores, and preparing for the next day. Stick to this routine daily, and new, healthy study habits will emerge!
- Post expectations and a family calendar in a highly visible place.
- Set up an environment conducive to studying and completing homework assignments. For most kids - elementary through high school, this might mean the well-lit, clutter-free dining room or kitchen table.
- What about all those papers? I like using the Pendaflex Pilesmart organizer ($8.99, Discover Organizing Store) to keep my kids school action, reference, and medical forms ready to go. No more piles on the kitchen table with this guy!

- Provide incentives for the child's ability to keep to the new routine - on Friday evening, for example, there can be a trip to the ice cream store for a job well done all week long!
