Lord of the Streets

On Sunday, March 14, members of St. Cuthbert are invited to cook breakfast for and provide lunch bags to the Lord of the Streets community. We will leave the church at 5:30 a.m. The mission of Lord of the Streets is to minister to the spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs of individuals who are homeless, in crisis or in transition. Donations of the following to be used in the lunch bags are needed: cheese and crackers, fruit, Vienna sausages, juice boxes and chips. Monetary donations are always appreciated. All items should be dropped off by this Sunday, March 7. For more information, please contact Joan Everson at 281.859.4147 or Betty Reid at 281.440.7402.

Coming soon:
All Church Mission

Saturday, March 13, will be St. Cuthbert's Work Day. This day will be dedicated to beginning a community garden right here, at the corner of Queenston and West Road. We will meet at 9:00 a.m. and divide into groups to tackle projects. Children age five and older are welcome to serve alongside their parents. Please bring a sack lunch and drinks will be provided. You do not need to be an expert in anything to serve! Sign up or for more information contact Britney Maxwell at 281.463.7330 or britney@stcuthbert.org.

Rose Sunday

There are only two weeks until Rose Sunday, March 14th. Please look for the table with the roses in the Parish Hall and sign up to donate an item or goodie or to pre-order your casserole. And, of course, volunteers are always needed!

Women of the Passion

Friday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) welcomes the public to a free presentation of The Women of the Passion, a dramatic reading of the story of the women that Scripture tells us provided for Jesus and his disciples. These were the women who stood off at a distance and who held vigil at the crucifixion. These women want to be heard and this is their story. Come and share in this wonderful Lenten program.

Discovery Weekend April 16, 17, 18

What is Discovery? It is an in-church spiritual retreat where the community of St. Cuthbert shares the transforming power and the accepting love of Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity to participate in 48 hours of thought, prayer, and creative sharing to experience what Christianity and our Church are all about.
