Service at Armstrong Woods! At 11 am today, August 1, we'll have our Annual
All-Parish Service at Armstrong Woods. We'll have a lovely outside service with
Eucharist, then a picnic - please bring your own picnic lunch, and a little
something extra to share. All are invited to join us! Directions: From Santa
Rosa, follow River Road to Guerneville. Turn Right on Armstrong Woods Road.
Follow to the end of the road to the Group Picnic Area, there is a fee for
parking. Alternative: Park outside the gate for free, and take a 15 minute walk
to the picnic area. Please note that
Services here at church this morning will be: 8 am as usual (with
Eucharist), 10 am Morning Prayer (NO Eucharist). Our normal 8 and 10 services
with Eucharist will resume on Sunday, August 8.
Small Groups at Incarnation: There are many different Small Groups to join and become part of an
intimate community of people with similar interests. Check out the Small Groups
table in Farlander Hall and if you would like more information, sign-up or
please call Mitch Garcia at 707-703-4162 or email smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org. If you are
interested in starting a small group, please call or email!
The
Poetry Group will be taking a
summer break and will resume September 13. If you would like information on the

We are looking for volunteers to help us: 1) record the Sunday sermons each week,
and 2) post them on the website. It will only take about 5 minutes of your time

We Need Your
Pictures! In order to put together our pictorial
directory we need your photos depicting fun social events, parish life, worship
services, music, youth activities, outreach efforts, Numina, or St. Andrews in
the Redwoods. Basically anything church
related since 2008 (the more recent the better). Please email your photos to Linelle@sonic.net, or drop the
prints off at the Welcome Center (they will be returned to you). Thank you for your help!
Come to a Women's Retreat! The retreat focus is "Discovering Your Spiritual
Gifts." The weekend is intended to provide time for personal prayer and
reflection, worship, small group lectio divina, music, art and fellowship
around that theme. The cost is 170.00 for 2 nights and 4 meals. We begin
at 7 pm after dinner and leave before lunch on Sunday. The dates are Aug.
6-8. Registration can be done over the phone by calling the Cathedral

Summer's Ending Quiet Space: The Bishop's Ranch - August 21, 2010
For

Come to the Ranch, Enter the Quiet: Saturday, August 21. 9:00 am to 7:30 pm. Step into a
contemplative space with a mix of silence and worship, movement and meditation,
times for napping and walking, and of course, good food. Claim a space for the
gift of simply being present in God. Evensong with the Grace Cathedral Boys
Choir follows dinner. Retreat Leaders: Nancy and Marv Hiles have been
leading contemplative retreats through the Iona Center for over 30 years.
Authors of The Way Through, An Almanac for the Soul, and All
the Days of My Life, they are part of the worshiping community at the
Chapel of St George. Patricia Moore is chaplain at The Bishop's Ranch
and a retreat leader. She serves on the Board of the Numina Center for
Spirituality & the Arts in Santa Rosa. Cost: $68 (includes lunch and

 Numina: Special Events at Incarnation this Summer
-- Manfred Bleffert - New Music for Organ and Created Instruments: Saturday, August 7, 8:30 pm. Manfred Bleffert will be composing music and creating instruments specifically to be performed in the wooden structure of the church. This should be an incredible and unique concert designed to speak to the faith of the people of this congregation. A reception will follow the concert.
-- Summer Chamber Concert Series: Join us for the last concert of this 3-month Summer Series on August 15. The concert starts at 4 pm, followed by a reception. Panels showcasing a local artist's work will be up as well, so you will be surrounded by beauty of all kinds! Featuring Carol Menke, Roy Zajac, Jennifer Sills, Laura McLellan, and Marilyn Thompson performing the works of Vaughan Williams, Glière, and more.
-- Through The Ear To The Heart: Every Monday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Sing the music of Hildegard von Bingen with guide Devi Mathieu. No experience necessary. All are welcome. (Note: This event is on-going, occurring every Monday evening throughout the year, with some exceptions.)
-- Taize Service: Join us on the fourth Friday of each month at 7:30 pm for an inspiring evening of story, art, and song. Kayleen Asbo, professor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, presents a program focusing on a spiritual theme through masterpieces of art and world mythology, followed by contemplative chanting in the candlelit chapel, accompanied by piano and cello. Our beautiful music comes from the Taize community in France, an ecumenical center dedicated to peace and reconciliation in the world. (Note: This event is on-going, occurring every 4th Friday of the month throughout the year).

we're listening to some of the amazing personal stories that are carried by
members of our congregation. Please join us at 9:00 am, in the Sanctuary,
