ABOUT DON DRAKE
Don
has been on a rich and varied spiritual path bridging both eastern and western
traditions and practices for over 40 years. He began on a path of western mysticism in his
teens and then in his early 20's, received Shaktipat initiation from Swami
Muktananda, the great mystic of Siddha Yoga fame.
After a few years immersed in the practice of
Siddha yoga, Baba recognized Don's potential as a catalyst for spiritual
awakening and gave him permission to teach meditation and transmit the Heart of
Siddha Yoga.
In addition to his
spiritual credentials, Don acquired a degree in Psychology and certifications
in several body/mind disciplines. He has
many years of practical experience, counseling individuals, and facilitating groups.
After many years of
riding the roller coaster of spiritual highs and lows, Don had a profoundly
painful "dark night" period about 11 years ago. He described it as a dark initiation, where
there was no escape from his own shadow. After a few months of learning how to directly
face deep depression, anxiety and despair, an amazing shift occurred - a realization
of fullness, freedom and Happiness existing simultaneously with the painful
conditions of embodiment.
He says the most interesting part of this
realization was the sudden disappearance of seeking the highs and avoiding the
lows that was such a major drive for so many years. Several awakened teachers have validated
Don's realization but he insists that he is no one special, and that this
awakening is happening all over the world to regular people just like him.
Don has discovered
how to help others become free of self imposed limitations and has developed a
very personalized system called Heart IQ.
"I'm an ordinary person surrendering to an extraordinary process" is the
