Midway NewsCentral Corridor Transit Service Study The central corridor lightrail project is well underway and exspected to open in 2012. It will cover 11 miles, serve 18 stations and connect downtown St. Paul with Minneapolis.
In anticipation of this new line, Metro Transit will be reviewing its bus service to maximize its effectiveness and efficiency. The study will look at development projects and other plans to ensure that transit service meets needs no and in the future.
Public outreach begins in early 2012. Metro Transit is working with the District Councils Collaborative (DCC) of Minneapolis and St. Paul to ensure deep community involvement in this process. To accomplish this, DCC is using a Trusted Advocate approach in which community members act as liaisons and reduce cultural and language barriers to effective input.
