Seize Your Marketing Opportunities
Remember to Bring Your Business Cards! A few months ago, I attended an event in NYC bringing
together professionals from across the region to discuss social media and the
future of marketing. There were
excellent presenters and the room was packed with interesting people. After the presentation, I went up to
introduce myself to one of the panelists, the Social Media Communications
Manager of a very prominent corporation to see if he blogged. He did and I
offered my business card, asking for his as I was unsure of the spelling of his
last name. He did not have a card. I was a bit surprised but he was a prominent
person in a huge multinational corporation in a very visible position, I guess
he really didn't need to worry - anyone could always Google him.

Have you ever forgotten to run spellcheck?
Here's a useful tip! Have you ever issued your e-newsletter, only to realize, after it is was too late, that you forgot to run spell check? Or that you ran spell check on some but not all the fields? I am sure that we have all done this at one point or another! Whether you are a poor speller, or just someone that has ever forgotten to run the spell check tool before you issued, you may want to try using FireFox as your browser. Firefox has a running spell check feature which let's you know, as you type, if you have words spelled incorrectly! Now, you still do need to check to make sure that you are using the CORRECT words (it does not check grammar) but it does pick up mistakes that you might otherwise miss! |

Business Card Design tips

- Stay consistent with company branding
- Always use the back of the business card
- Never overload the card with too much information, be brief and to the point
- Never use too many fonts or fonts that are hard to read or are too small
- Use a standard size card, much easier for storing.
And her last bit of advice - When in doubt, hire a professional to design your cards!

If you would like to only include teaser text in your e-newsletter but do not have a place to host the full article, Constant Contact will now host those documents for you - at no charge!
Great for those of you that do not manage your own websites or for those that dread having to ask your webmaster to upload and host your articles each month. While hosting articles on your website is always best (driving traffic back to your website), if that is not an option for you, this may be a very good alternative!
