Brynn Carroll
Brynn Carroll, Yin Yang II, Oil on Canvas, Diptych 26"x 72"
This exciting exhibition
brings a seasoned painter to Chroma Gallery. Brynn Carroll moved to Huntsville Alabama from Northern California about a year ago and has been
enamored with the sultry summer nights and slowed down pace of the southeast.
Brynn was born in northern California
and received her BA in fine arts from California State University of
Sacramento. Shortly after graduating, Brynn became a full-time artist and has
been painting for over twenty years. Her work has won numerous awards and is
widely collected. In these new works, Brynn has captured exquisite moments in time
or "snap-shots" of her environment. She continues to be
fascinated by the way light plays on water and floods over objects in its path.
She often works with large scale formats in either oil or watercolor yet gives
herself the freedom to explore other mediums and methodologies including
sculpture. Brynn says of her work, "the meaning of color and shape make a
more definite statement than words." We are please to introduce you to
Brynn Carroll's water lily series along with her other new works created especially
for this exhibition. Please come and meet the artist on Thursday night between 5:00-8:30pm. Brynn
will be here along many of the other participating artists during the opening. _______________________________ |

New works for "Southern Ease"
|
David Kaminsky
Ossabaw Island is a favorite hang-out for local artisans and David is not to be left out. This latest photograph exudes the feeling of the island with its warm beaches and blue skies. David's process continues to be grounded in technology however, his work captures the essence of his subject which is the natural or physical world. |
Ikeda LOWE
I keda
Lowe's works depict multidimensional, non-linear spaces, that sometimes abandon landscape
and representational space in favor of surface design with finely
finessed textures. Hybrid compositions that mix collage and painting, Ikeda has created these new pieces by using boldly patterned papers, threads, and
oil paint on panel. |
Nancy Doolan
Spontaneous, lively and intricately detailed describe Nancy's figurative works. Her instinctive marks exquisitely express the human form and its complexities. Her work layers gestural images in a myriad of patterns, with charcoal, pen lines, and transparent washes to create a delicate tapestry for the viewer. |
Daniel E. Smith
We are happy to have new works by Daniel E. Smith.
He continues to present ethereal interpretations of creation and decay
that often evokes a suspended moment of calm. When viewing these works, we invite you to share with him his passion for color,
surface, space, and form. Daniel's art, as always, gives us a vehicle for
reflection and memory. |
Lori Keith Robinson
Lori's latest works explore her
connection to her grandmother and mother's art form of quilting. Along
with her well-loved paintings she will be showing interpretations of her
marshes in collaged mix-media textile works. Simplified shapes ground
these works thus allowing her to present her sense of color as only she
can do.

Jan Clayton Pagratis
Her latest works honor the ocean and life among the coral reefs. Jan pushes the limits of her chosen medium encaustic, with textures that literally grow off the canvas and colors that seem to glow like coral in water. Having lived most of her life on the southeastern coast, Jan supportst environmental conservation and hopes to inspire interest in local watershed areas and marine sanctuaries |
Morgan Santander
Stained glass is the first thought that might cross your mind when you first see Morgan's new works. These pieces are filled with playful and child-like imagery that have an energetic story to tell with bold black lines that overlay and intertwine amongst brilliant layers of interference and iridescent colors. Bravo!

Laura DiNello
Imaginative and colorful describe the well loved work of Laura Dinello's incredible mixed-media mosiacs. If you've been waiting for Laura's new work, they have finally arrived. You will be amazed with these new pieces which are as always filled with brilliant colors and quirky compositions. Oh, we love to love you Baby! |
John Olenyik
John has managed to capture that extraordinary feeling that one gets when in the presence of Savannah's majestic oaks with their draping spanish moss. His textural brushwork literally describes the rough surface of old bark and the graceful charm of swaying moss. As John continues to explore the beauty of the southeast, his inspiration has moved from sea to land.

Tim MILLER
Tim
Miller has a progressive approach to glass blowing. He mixes
traditional techniques with contemporary design and has created a very fluid body of work. Once again he has brought
us a sea of new pieces that draw from nature and have a beautiful modern
flare. |
