Another great Sunday at Unity on the Bay brought my dear friend and my guide to A Course In Miracles back to our platform - Kevin Rice. The Course has been a grand resource to deepen my awareness and appreciation of Unity teachings and Kevin is a brilliant messenger. Let's summarize the four principles we heard Sunday: 1. Re-establish your purpose within this world. We often wonder why we exist and what our purpose in life truly is. We are here to love, that is to release our preconceived judgments and ideas about ourselves, other people and life to experience the Kingdom of God, which Is the kingdom of love.
2. Extend love to keep love in your awareness. To have all, give all to all. You will always get back what you give to life. When you realize your purpose is to love, you find the greatest joy in extending love to others. Why? Because your are living your purpose. In your oneness with all of life, what you give to others you are, in truth, giving to yourself. Try giving a loving look and living a loving act with every person in your world this week.
3. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. If you are trusting in your own strength, you have every reason to be afraid. Every morning when you awaken, as the activity of God as the Holy Spirit to live your life, to guide you and protect you always, and strengthen you.
4. Practice the Holy Instant throughout the day. Release past regret and future expectation. Live in this present moment - that is the only place you will find the Kingdom of God, which is the kingdom of peace and well being.
