Dear Friends,
I am on my way to Israel and the Mideast to offer a peaceful presence and heart and Nonviolent Communication trainings wherever I go. I have set up a PayPal account to receive donations that will fund trainings to diverse groups of Israelis and other Jews, Palestinians and other Arabs, and other activists, families, organizations, religious and environmental groups, schools and communities. A few examples of opportunities that need funding: A peace organization of Russian speaking women from all over Israel; a dialogue group of observant and less observant Jewish women in the North; a volunteer network providing social services to lower income people in the Galilee; the Hope Flowers School in Bethlehem and other community groups in and around Bethlehem; an arts program in Jenin; a bi national environmental organization in the South of Israel; Montessori teachers and administrators gathering in Jordan from Arab countries. Please click on the donate button above to support me continuing to offer these trainings freely and so I can say "yes" to every group and individual who ask for a training. I will be sending emails with updates and sharings.
Here is a sample of email correspondence about these trainings:
From Jerusalem: Dear Roberta,
Thanks much for your response. I think our organization could really benefit from your training. We've had much drama recently, totally avoidable in my opinion, and it would be very helpful for all of us to learn to communicate in more effective & compassionate ways. We have members all over the country. I think we could cover transportation costs. As for donations - I'm not really sure as this is not really part of the culture here. Our activists work very hard as the reality here is harsh, and are not used to being asked to pay for trainings out of pocket, on top of all the work that they put in.
From the Galilee: 1. Need to assume nobody here has any NVC training or knowledge, incl. counselors and teachers etc. 2. Do you have a specific curriculum for school teachers, and, is NVC -training them something you do, short term? 3. Ditto for social workers mostly in public service and w/ hardly any work-support of value, nor much respect from their authorities. (I doubt any higher echelon would admit that and attend, but------open to the 'miraculous' possibility..... 4. Do you work with battered women as such? 5. Anything for troubled teens and their authorities working with them?
...
- A workshop for women- everyone invited, special outreach to Orthodox; focusing on topics such as asking for what you want.
- Training for the staff and volunteers of the organization that helps people with limited access to resources.
- Open public forum- connecting across the divides.
Jordan
... I am really thrilled to anticipate us creating something effective, deep and fun in Jordan and many other collaborations.
...There's a large orthodox population here, (as well as other ethnic and cultural groups) --I'm interested in what kind of work you can offer them, (what specific topics that could interest them...). There is a dire need for NVC here...
...I would recommend you add a half day workshop in the Jerusalem or Tel Aviv areas - or perhaps at Neve Shalom, which would enable additional people to be exposed to the ideas of NVC.
Jerusalem
... We'd like to ask if you are available to do an all day staff training for us? We both believe that a whole day is probably needed for NVC training and we'd like to experience everything and benefit from it in addition to thinking through how to offer a part of it to our alumni and leadership seminar honing in on the needs of our participants.
Modiin ... Let's talk about this when you are here! For further inquiries about Roberta Wall: info@steps2peace.com
