iPhone or iSitter?
What does a 2-year old have in common with a 20-year old or a 40-year old? Yep, it's the iPhone. Natasha Sykes, mother of two, describes the first time her 2-year old saw her iPhone. "He pressed the buttons it lit up. I just remember his eyes. It was like 'Whoa.' Sykes says that her children have block, Legos, bouncing balls, toy cars and books galore. "They love the book. But nothing compares to the iPhone." Hilary Stout, New York Times

Will Shopping Ever Be the Same?
It hit me when my husband purchased brakes online for a 68' Firebird. For our own cars we would typically bring a job like this to the dealer but not for our son's fixer-upper. We're trying to do on the skinny.
My husband's first purchase outside the dealer was through an online retailer in the Bay Area. He saved a few hundred bucks but it included a 100+ mile trip to the Bay Area, which I think he came to regret. The next purchase, he found another site offering free shipping. He started an online chat conversation with customer service but he was long winded and support eventually hung up on him, likely thinking that he had left the conversation.
I shared my experience about the short and choppy nature of online chat, which is very different from speaking on the phone. He got back online and had a much different experience. He received a very high level of product expertise and as a result, he purchased a different item that was significantly less expensive. It was also faster and cheaper than purchasing through a reseller or retail outlet.
