Join the Friends during National Friends of Libraries Week
to be entered in the drawing!

 Amazon Kindle 3GJoin the Friends of Chelsea District Library during National Friends of Libraries Week, October 17 - 23. In addition to receiving an eco-responsible Friends book bag, individuals who join the Friends of the Chelsea District Library as first time members during National Friends of Libraries Week will automatically be entered to win an Amazon Kindle G3. The drawing for the Kindle will take place at the end of the National Friends of Libraries Week on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Friends display in the Library lobby at 3:00pm. The winner need not be present to win. The Friends will have a display table in library lobby for the entire week. A brochure and registration form will be available at the table. Also, all Friends members receive the privilege of attending the used book sale preview on the Friday afternoon before the sale. 


The Friends have a variety of membership levels to choose from including $10 Student/Senior, $25 Friend and Family, $50 Best Friend, $100 Supporting, $250 Corporate/Business sponsor, $500 Patron, $1,000 Sustaining Member. Any of these standard levels qualify for the Kindle drawing as long as it is a new membership. Forms are available at the Library's check-out desk and the Friends display in the Library lobby.

Teen Read WeekCelebrate Teen Read Week (October 17 - 23) with a late-night library party! There will be live music, DJ and dance floor and a separate gaming room! Pizza will be served. Teens must register at least 24 hours in advance to be admitted. And once you're in, you stay in! Register now!

The Chelsea District Library is nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide equal access to quality resources that serve the lifelong cultural, educational and informational needs and interests of all people.  The Library currently serves 14,000 residents in the Chelsea district - City of Chelsea plus Dexter, Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan townships and more than 20,000 individuals visit the Library each month.  The Library's state-of-the-art facility is an access point for information including: books, periodicals, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, downloadable e-books, subscription databases as well as access to the Internet.  In addition to providing dynamic services to complement and support local schools and other important community needs, the Chelsea District Library strives to present timely, interesting and high-quality programs and events to engage and enrich the Chelsea community.
