Greetings!
As you look around the VVCC website and this e-newsletter, and as you interact with staff and support volunteers, we hope you'll notice not just that things are changing, but that we're listening - and implementing your ideas and suggestions. One goal we all share is to improve the quality of service we provide to neighbors. Thank you not only for your service, but for sharing this goal and for providing your input to help us improve. |

Thank You for Reading!
Our last edition, sent January 14th, went out to 203 volunteers. Slightly more than 55% of you opened the e-newsletter - that's 112 volunteers. Twenty-five of you clicked through to the new website.
It's terrific to know that we can get information to you quickly, without spending a lot of money, and do it in a way that's worth your time. |

Learning
You can read more about what happened at the six learning sessions we held last month on the website. Simply click where you see a number before the word "Comment" near the top of a post.

The February learning schedule is posted in the sidebar to your left.
We're offering one new session this month and working on another for March. New this month is Website 101. What you see on the website now is only the tip of the iceberg. Join us in this fun session to learn what's on the site today, what's coming tomorrow, and even take a peek under the hood. We're so close to linking the site with our CARE database that we're going out on a limb to say that we're going to give you a look at this new functionality at the session on February 8th - whether it's live or not. You'll see how volunteers will be able to view available service requests online and learn how to select and claim them. Click here to RSVP for Website 101 scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 10:00 AM - Noon.
The new session in March that we're working on involves sharing information about difficult situations we sometimes encounter with neighbors - helping us understand what's going on and what to do about it. Like our other sessions, volunteers are taking the lead in designing and facilitating this one.
If you have an idea for a session - something you believe we need to know or important information you would like to share - please call or email Roger. |
|
We're planning to celebrate our volunteers smack in the middle of National Volunteer Appreciation Week.
Plan to join us for lunch on Thursday, April 19th, from Noon to 1:30 PM. Plans are in the works and details will follow.
For those who love a party, please join the planning and preparations by contacting Roger. |

Website Update
In the past few days, we've added "comments" to posts about our learning sessions last month. The important thing to note about these comments is that you can comment too! At the bottom of each post you'll find a little section for comments. This is your space - and your opportunity to add your input.

Just fill in your name and email, add your comments in the box below, then click "Post Comment." All comments are reviewed by staff before posting - our way of making sure we don't get a bunch of the kind of junk we sometimes find on websites.
If you need help making comments, why not consider attending our next Website 101 session? |

These are exciting times. On one hand, we're quickly upgrading our processes to handle accelerating growth; on the other, we revel in the miracles we create daily with our neighbors. We hope every service is rewarding for you and that you feel deeply that you're making a difference.
Sincerely,
Kent Ellsworth, Executive Director Roger Wyer, Volunteer Coordinator |
