Yama Seiki Offers AWEA APC Series on BM-850 Machining Center

The benefit of the BM-850 APC series can reduce the time it takes to cycle out a part from a matter of minutes to a matter of seconds. While the spindle is cutting on one pallet, other tasks may be performed on the other pallet, such as cleaning off metal chips or loading in a new part. The APC machine is optimized to perform high accuracy cuts while handling heavy duty materials. The standard version of this machine can reach up to maximum speeds of 8,000 RPM with an output of 20HP. The structure of the machine, a 4 box way, one-piece bed design, is engineered to withstand years of rigorous heavy material, with every contact surface on all casting components hand scraped to ensure the tightest fit and accuracy possible.

Although this vertical machine is considered to be one of the smaller size machines in Yama Seiki, it far exceeds everyone's expectations with its quick fast acceleration and deceleration times as well as its spacious travel room.

With the combined part of the auto pallet tool changer, you have a multi-tasking machine, doubling the amount of production needed for suppliers to dish out their products.

The BM-850 APC Series machine includes two 31.5" x 18.1" working tables with a maximum capacity load of up to 440 lbs. It has axis travels of 33.5" x 23.6" x 23.6" for X, Y, and Z axis, respectively. Users invest this machine due to its ability to change from one pallet to another within 7 seconds, capable of mass producing various machine components on a daily basis. For maximum output and performance, various options are included with this machine such as rear-exit chip conveyors, coolant through systems, and more.

Yama Seiki Offers AWEA Mega5 Series Five-Axis Machining Center

As seen in Manufacturing News NE - Over decades of experience in building bridge-type machining centers and technology development combined with a worldwide leading five axes head, AWEA created the new Mega5 Series 5-axis bridge-type machining centers. Given the freedom of flexibility, the 5-axis movement greatly increases the cutting capability and efficiency of large parts to cope with machining requirements in all kinds of industries.

The rigid structure of the head can handle all types of cutting with a high torque heavy-duty spindle from 12,000 RPM to 24,000 RPM. Built into a one-piece casting in graphite cast iron, the Mega5 head contains higher rigidity and vibration damping capability. The positioning and clamping of the B and C-axis is done within 1 second. Hydraulic clamping force is up to 10,000 N-m, providing heavy-duty cutting power. Its built-in direct drive motor along with hydraulic clamping far exceeds the traditional worm gear design in accuracy and durability. In addition, the integrated water cooling circuit effectively reduces any thermal deformation, making it able to withstand long hours of cutting.

Spindle technology is also not a foreign subject at Yama Seiki AWEA. It has built its Mega5 head by integrating three sets of direct drive Italy Technai torque motors, providing maximum accuracy and backlash free advantages.

The Mega5 is not only suitable for high-speed accuracy cutting but also suitable for heavy cutting at a low RPM range. Integrated with a water cooling circuit and high speed RPM, the spindle can reach to maximum stability within 10 minutes after the machine starts, with elongation not more than 0.01 mm.

The Mega5 Series takes on a huge role in a big machine. It does not just cut with high speed and torque, but also accuracy while cutting for extreme lengths of time.
