OptiPro SystemsWhat Makes OptiPro's PRO 80 Series Better?

OptiPro recently launched the PRO 80 Series machines at Optifab, and we received a great response from those who got to see the features of our newest machine line in person. In case you were not able to attend Optifab, here is a quick rundown of why the PRO 80 Series is the ideal choice for companies looking to produce low, medium or high quantities of optics up to 80 mm in diameter:

  1. Liquid cooled air purged, ceramic hybrid tool spindles
    PRO 80GTS
    PRO 80GTS >>
  2. Quick change/push of a button tool change spindles
  3. HSK 63 tooling interface for highest precision repeatability. Wide variety of off-the-shelf holders available
  4. Integral motor tool spindles (not belt driven) lead to much less vibration
  5. Greased for life linear guides on all axes/ways of the machine
  6. "Rock Solid" granite center core for superb machine stability and accuracy
  7. Yaskawa AC brushless high-end servo drives and motors with proprietary high resolution encoders
  8. 4" steel welded modular construction on retractable wheels for ease of movement around the shop bodes well for "cellular manufacturing concept
    PRO 80P
    PRO 80P >>
  9. Air-conditioned electrical cabinets for better control and drive stability
  10. Small footprint as peripheral equipment is all contained in the 40" x 60" footprint
  11. Ergonomic operator interface with multi-position pendant arm
  12. Easy to clean, easy to service
  13. Programmable Y-Axis adjustment
  14. All stainless steel internal enclosure
  15. Advanced, easy-to-use graphical user interface makes training new operators simple and fast
  16. This machine line will do up to 80 mm hemispheres and larger diameters for shallower curves (Size TBD)
    PRO 80UFF
    PRO 80UFF >>
  17. These machines weigh 4,000 lbs each, much more than the lower cost competitors' machines.
  18. Built in the USA!

All of the above = better finishes, faster set-ups, faster cycle times, better accuracy and stability coupled with OptiPro's excellent service and applications support.

Sign Up for the 2nd Annual OptiPro U Course on Advanced Optical Manufacturing
OptiPro U's First Class
The first OptiPro U class from the summer of 2010.

OptiPro U will be available once again to anyone interested in learning more about the topic of Advanced Optical Manufacturing. Unlike the previous OptiPro U course which took place in the summer, this year's training course will take place in the fall (October 17-21). The delay is due to construction of the new building addition which is to be completed by the end of August (read more about this below).

OptiPro U is a one of a kind course that allows students to learn how to use the latest innovations being developed at OptiPro. Throughout the week students will receive classroom theory pertaining to deterministic microgrinding of spheres and aspheres, high-speed polishing of spheres, and sub-aperture polishing of aspheres while implementing interferometric, non-contact and contact metrology systems. Students will also receive ample hands-on experience in putting the classroom theory to practice by using OptiPro's eSX grinding, ePX polishing, UltraForm Finishing (UFF), OptiTrace 5000, UltraSurf, and the all-new PRO Series machines, which includes the PRO 80GTS, PRO 80P, PRO 80UFF, and PRO Tower.

Cost for the entire week of training is only $1500! To sign up, please contact OptiPro by calling 585-265-0160 or send emails to sales@optipro.com.

Construction has started on OptiPro's new 7,500 square-foot building addition! The new addition will house OptiPro's optics machine build area, allowing more room for our Advanced Process Development lab and machine tool showroom. As OptiPro continues to grow as a company, having this extra space will allow for operations to be performed more efficiently. The addition should be completed by the end of August, with both OptiPro U and OptiPro's annual open house to follow in the fall.
