OptiPro recently hosted its Summer 2010 SBIR Review Meeting on July 13th at the Hampton Inn Webster, which is just outside of Rochester, NY. Optics companies from all over the United States attended the meeting to be informed on the progress that is being made in regards to SBIR projects that optical designers, optical fabricators, and universities are currently working on. Among those in attendance were representatives from the ARMY, NAVY, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Penn State University, and the University of Rochester. After the Review Meeting concluded, attendees made the trip to OptiPro's facility in Ontario, NY where they had the opportunity to view OptiPro's optics machines and equipment in action. The recently-completed SXL/UFF 500 was one of the machines that was demonstrated, which has the capability of grinding and polishing optics up to 500 mm, all on one platform! We are very excited about this new machine, especially after the tremendous amount of positive feedback we received from those who witnessed it in operation during the live demo.
OptiPro appreciates all the people who participated in the Summer 2010 SBIR Review Meeting. If you would like to see pictures from the event, go to OptiPro's Facebook page by clicking on the following link!
