Over 70 People Attend Summer 2010 SBIR Review Meeting!
OptiPro President Mike Bechtold speaks to the attendees of the Summer 2010 SBIR Review Meeting.
Mike Bechtold speaks to attendees of the SBIR review meeting on July 13th.
OptiPro recently hosted its Summer 2010 SBIR Review Meeting on July 13th at the Hampton Inn Webster, which is just outside of Rochester, NY. Optics companies from all over the United States attended the meeting to be informed on the progress that is being made in regards to SBIR projects that optical designers, optical fabricators, and universities are currently working on. Among those in attendance were representatives from the ARMY, NAVY, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Penn State University, and the University of Rochester. In all, over 70 people were in attendance!

After the Review Meeting concluded, attendees made the trip to OptiPro's facility in Ontario, NY where they had the opportunity to view OptiPro's optics machines and equipment in action. The recently-completed SXL/UFF 500 was one of the machines that was demonstrated, which has the capability of grinding and polishing optics up to 500 mm, all on one platform! We are very excited about this new machine, especially after the tremendous amount of positive feedback we received from those who witnessed it in operation during the live demo.
OptiPro appreciates all the people who participated in the Summer 2010 SBIR Review Meeting. If you would like to see pictures from the event, go to OptiPro's Facebook page by clicking on the following link...

Mike Bechtold, President of OptiPro, and the new booth backdrop
OptiPro will be showcasing its brand new trade show booth backdrop at the upcoming SPIE Optics+Photonics show in San Diego, California! The backdrop features close-ups of our machines grinding, polishing, and measuring precision optics in the center and promotes OptiPro's new service, Advanced Process Development (APD), on the side panel. There will also be footage of our machines in action on a flat screen TV. We are very excited about this new backdrop and hope you enjoy it too!
As per usual, you will be able to obtain a great deal of information regarding our machines and equipment by picking up product literature or talking to Mike Bechtold, president of OptiPro, who will be present at the trade show for all three days.
The SPIE Optics+Photonics is from August 1st through 5th at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, USA. Exhibition dates and hours are:
  • Tuesday, August 3rd from 10 am to 5 pm

OptiPromotion: Last Chance to Save 15% on UltraCURV and UltraBloc!
UltraCURV     UltraBloc
OptiPro's 4th of July promotion on UltraCURV and UltraBloc will be ending on August 4th, so now is the time to place an order on one or both of these products! Place an order before August 4th and save 15% off the list price!
  • UltraCURV: Normally $13,500 - 15% ($2,025) = NOW $11,475!
  • UltraBloc: Normally $6,850 - 15% ($1,027.50) = NOW $5,822.50!
The UltraCURV (Computerized Universal Radius Verifier) measures spherical components between 5mm and 200mm in diameter. Our easy to use electronic spherometer displays radius, sag and fringe data. The measurement data can be directly exported to an Excel or CSV file for SPC analysis. UltraCURV comes complete with a netbook computer (mini-laptop), software and manual pre-installed. 5mm, 10mm, 15mm small diameter ring cups and Hemi-dome adapter are also included.
The UltraBloc is an offline portable table-top device which will dramatically reduce setup times when precision blocking is required for optics manufacturing. It allows for precision alignment when using an adhesive between your optics and blocking body. The UltraBloc incorporates 0 to 20 rpm motorized precision bearing spindle, which can be activated via a foot switch or with a manual switch for continuous rotation. Horizontally mounted calipers and/or dial indicators assist in precise and repeatable alignment of lenses. The electronics and spindle assembly are totally enclosed, this unique configuration is actively air cooled to dissipate heat from pitch or wax blocking more efficiently.
Remember, this offer only lasts until August 4th, so contact OptiPro today to take advantage of this exciting offer! Call (585) 265-0160 or send emails to dmohring@optipro.com to place an order.
