After eight months in development, OptiPro's new website has officially been launched as of Friday, March 19th. The new and improved website is more user-friendly due to a simple, yet eye-catching homepage that clearly defines OptiPro's three business sectors: Optical Fabrication Equipment, Mastercam Distributor, and Machine Tool Distributor. The website was created by ThomasNet Web Solutions, who will also be hosting the site as well.

"Jam Session" Rescheduled Due to Good Friday |
OptiPro's April Jam Session has been rescheduled to Friday, April 9th from 9am-Noon. If you are not familiar with a "Jam Session," this is a benefit of our Maintenance program. A limited number of other Mastercam users meet with our technical staff on the first Friday of each month in order to discuss questions that they may have.

Maintenance Customers: Take Advantage of Mastercam University's Maintenance Class |
There is a Mastercam X4 Maintenance class currently on Mastercam University ( www.mastercamu.com) that is free to all Maintenance customers. It is designed to help you understand the new features in X4.
A few topics that you will learn about are:
- Feature Chain
- Bump Nesting
- Toolpath Refinement
- Setup Sheets
- Dynamic Planes and Transform
- Dynamic and Rest Mill
- 2D High Speed Toolpaths
If you are currently a Mastercam Maintenance customer, you should take advantage of this class to either get up-to-speed with X4 or learn some new features that you might not be aware of.

Information Regarding "Entry Point Not Found" Error |
|
If you are receiving a message that says "Entry Point Not Found" when starting up Mastercam, please read the following information that offers a solution to this problem:
Problem: Customer see the following error when starting Mastercam:
Cause: This is caused by a third-party application that has not been updated. it is usually caused by over-writing an old installation and having the old C-Hooks folder still in that directory.
Solution: You must either update this third-party application or uninstall it in order to get rid of this error. |

Mastercam X5 Enhancements |
Assigning Colors to Solid FacesThese new functions assign different colors to individual solid faces and features. Mastercam applies colors over the solid body according to a set hierarchy. In this hierarchy, feature colors are applied over the solid color, and face colors are applied over the feature color. Use these colors to more easily select solid areas for toolpathing and other operations.
From the Solids menu, choose an option from the Pattern submenu.

You can now access immediate mode functions, such as Fit and Zoom, while any Solid dialog box is open. Immediate mode functions interrupt a function, and when they have finished, they return to the function.
Bolt circle is no longer a Nethook and is now a function of Mastercam. It has also been enhanced to give you the ability to do the following:
*Draw circles in 2D or wrapped around a diameter.
*Draw circles around a full circle or along a total sweep angle
*Preview and, if desired, flip the results
*Remove individual circles
*Center point option
Select Create, Bolt Circle to access the function.   |
