Future Engineers from Wayne High School Tour OptiPro Systems
Mike Bechtold speaks to the students of Wayne High School
On November 12th, OptiPro Systems welcomed a large group of students from Wayne High School to their facility to learn about the company's history and its operations. Wayne High School is located just down the road from OptiPro in Ontario, NY. The students are currently taking a course called Computed Integrated Manufacturing and because this topic is OptiPro's specialty, president Mike Bechtold was able to provide the students with a great deal of information based on years of experience in the field. After showing a video about what exactly OptiPro does, Mike discussed the broad range of career opportunities available at a smaller company like OptiPro, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and machine tool technician. He also encouraged the group of students to consider technical career paths and led them on a tour of the facility in attempt to excite them about these possibilities. While taking the students on the tour of OptiPro, he showed the group the CNC machines OptiPro has in its facility and explained the capabilities of each machine. From CNC optical grinding and polishing machines to 5-axis CNC milling and turning centers, the students got to witness how computers play an essential role in both optical fabrication and metal machining.
Mastercam's Multi-Axis Machining Increases Speed and Finish

5-axis Impeller Machining

Multi-axis machining can dramatically increase a shop's competitiveness, and Mastercam's multi-axis machining offers a wide range of multi-axis machining strategies-both basic and advanced. Some enhancements to Mastercam's multi-axis machining include features in the Port5ax and Flow5ax toolpaths, TrueSolids 5-axis verify improvements, and much more.
TrueSolid 5-axis Verify: TrueSolids 5-axis Verify is now included in Mastercam's multi-axis machining. TrueSolid 5-axis Verify uses solid modeling technology for toolpath simulation. After verifying a part in TrueSolid mode, you can rotate and magnify the part to more closely check features, surface finish, or scallops.
Watch for a separate email with details on our Multi-axis Machining Seminar after the 1st of the year.
Need to clean up old Mastercam versions left on your computer?
Mastercam X4
Mastercam is designed to be installed easily by end users or technical staff. However, if your company prefers a single source turn-key installation strategy instead, our technical staff can set up your system. Mastercam software allows customization so that it can be optimized to work properly in your company's day-to-day operations.
  • Eliminate conflicts between old versions
  • Convert existing posts to the current release of X4
  • Update machine & control definitions
