Sports Illustrated Kids and United Way are searching nationwide for young athletes who are making exceptional contributions on and off the field of play. If you know a kid who excels in sports, does well in school and gives back to the community, tell us about them! They could end up on the cover of Sports Illustrated Kids!
The 2009 Sports Illustrated KIDS SportsKid of the Year will appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated KIDS, participate in Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year VIP events and receive a customized varsity jacket.
Click here to nominate a young athlete. Deadline for nominations is September 25. United Way of East Central Iowa and Sports Illustrated KIDS recognize the important role in a child's development and we're proud to bring this opportunity to kids in East Central Iowa. |
| How do you LIVE UNITED? |
Everyone has something to give - an hour, a Saturday, your voice as the champion of a cause. Tell us how you are working to improve the lives of people in our communities. Submit video, a photo or a written message of how you LIVE UNITED!
Your submission should illustrate how you're working to make a difference in our community. Describe how you GIVE, ADVOCATE, or VOLUNTEER, why you think it is important, and what lasting change you hope to influence. Entries will be divided into two categories: Individuals and Businesses. United Way staff will judge the entries on message and substance, not production quality, so don't sweat the details! The winner of each category will be announced at United Way's Campaign Celebration in January, and will win a $250 contribution for their favorite nonprofit organization! All entrants will receive LIVE UNITED merchandise prizes and recognition on our website and social media pages.
