| Salvation Army
Welcomes New Officers
|
|
The Cedar Rapids Salvation Army has new leadership. Lieutenants Michael & Kristina Sjogren will supervise the social services and church ministry of the Cedar Rapids-based center that serves all of Linn County. Prior to taking their post here in Cedar Rapids, they attended The Army's two-year seminary program in Chicago, Illinois. They are not however new to The Salvation Army. Lt Michael's parents are Salvation Army officers currently serving as commanders in The Army's Northern Division. Lt Kristina's grandparents also served as officers.
The couple met through The Salvation Army in Rockford, Illinois, Lt Kristina's hometown. Both are currently working toward a master's degree in ministry from Olivet Nazarene.
The Sjogrens replace Captain Mark and Major Sue Haslett. The Hasletts were called to serve with The Salvation Army in Sedalia, Missouri. The staff and advisory board of The Salvation Army appreciate the community's support in welcoming the Sjogrens and their two daughters, Rachael 10 and Eden 8, to Cedar Rapids. |
