East Central Iowa Volunteer Center Celebrates One YearVolunteer Center Staff
The East Central Iowa Volunteer Center opened on July 3, 2008, to help manage volunteers coming into the area to help with flood recovery. AmeriCorps VISTA workers staff the volunteer center office and also lead volunteer groups working on flood recovery projects in the field. Approximately 15 year-long VISTA's and 40 summer associates currently work out of the Volunteer Center.

The Volunteer Center is a partnership between United Way of East Central Iowa, Community Corrections Improvement Association and AmeriCorps VISTA.

Individuals wanting to volunteer and those who need volunteer assistance can call (319) 540-4810.
