Join us on Thursday, February 12, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the AEGON USA Main Building Cafeteria, 4333 Edgewood Road NE, for United Way's Campaign Celebration. Enjoy refreshments and fun as we recognize the outstanding work of many individuals and companies, and announce the results from the 2008 campaign season! Program begins at 6:00 pm.

United Way of East Central Iowa and the Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids honored 19 area middle and high school students at the annual Remembering Martin Luncheon on Monday, January 19 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The students were selected by their school administration for their volunteer work, school attendance and positive behavior.
Akwi Nji-Dawson, Language Arts Instructor and Director of The Academy for Scholastic and Personal Success, was the keynote speaker for the event. Nji-Dawson congratulated the students and urged them to continue embracing King's values on the way to bright futures. |

Day on the Hill |
| Join staff, board members and volunteers from United Ways across Iowa on Wednesday, February 11, from 7:00-9:00 am for United Way's Day on the Hill. Individuals will gather at the State Capitol in Des Moines to advocate for education, income and basic needs, and other important items on United Way's public policy agenda. Individual and group meetings with legislators to follow.
