Community Recovery Center Open House |
The Community Recovery Center (CRC), new home to several Linn Area Long Term Recovery Coalition services, the East Central Iowa Volunteer Center, the Matthew 25 Tool Lending Library and other flood-related programs, will hold an Open House from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, December 19. The public is invited to attend to learn more about the facility and find out how they may benefit from these services.
The CRC, located at 220 Sixth Street NW, Cedar Rapids, will house Recovery Advocates, who work with families which have unmet needs related to the flood, as well as the Construction Coordinator, who will focus on rebuilding efforts of the Linn Area Long Term Recovery Coalition. The facility is also serving as a temporary warehouse for some large donations which the Coalition has already received. | Free Consumer Credit Counseling |
Those impacted by the flood will have an additional resource to manage financial recovery. Horizons, a family service Alliance, will provide free Consumer Credit Counseling services to anyone affected by the flood. Read More |

VITA Volunteers Needed
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program needs tax preparers and greeters for the upcoming tax season. Help is needed January through April, Monday through Saturday with many shifts available each week. No experience is necessary, and all required training and certification will be provided to you at no cost.
