In the classroom of the garden...

Seeds stirring under the soil, poking up with a sprout - reaching for the sun. Flowers bursting with color enticing  bumblebees and butterflies to a sacred dance. Another dance is had by the sun and the rain - a passionate tango that sparks the magnificence of a rainbow.

As you enjoy time in your garden this spring, take note of the processes. From tilling the soil and planting the seeds, to caring for the garden environment to ensure growth. Every step is crucial.

While the result of a garden is a bountiful basket of delicious fruits and vegetables - it is the process that matters most of all. Such a process requires dedication, mindfulness, patience and flexibility.

We can learn a great deal about our proverbial community garden from our backyard or patio gardens. It is not enough to put a seed in the ground - we must take care of the soil, mind the water, add the nutrients and channel the light in order for the seed to emerge and become what it is intended to be.
