First Priority and Flint Hill's 5K and One Mile Fun Run Recap and Pictures

5K Run

On Saturday, June 11, First Priority and Flint Hill Christian School hosted a 5K and One Mile Fun Run at Alabama Adventure Water and Theme Park. We would like to thank all those who participated! Thanks to our participants and sponsors our first-ever 5K event was a huge success! We had 206 participants, 100 in the 5K and 106 in the One Mile Fun Run. The winners of Flint Hill's First Priority 5K are as follows:

Overall Male Winners

1 - Daniel Pierce; Scottsboro; 17:06

2 - Jeff Clark; McCalla; 17:12

3 - John Bradley; Hoover; 18:43

Overall Female Winners

1 - Dr. Irma Palmer; Birmingham; 22:40

2 - Autumn East; Gadsden; 23:23

All 5K and One Mile Fun Run participants received a free ticket to Alabama Adventure. Participants also enjoyed Christian Music Day at Alabama Adventure with a concert performed by GRAMMY® nominated and "Top Christian Album" Billboard Music Award Winner Skillet.

"It was a fun atmosphere being at a theme park," said Sheldon McCartney, first place winner of the 20 - 29 male age division. "I can guarantee that First Priority will have more runners next year; the word will get out."

"The course was challenging but it was fun and I can't wait until next year to break some records," said Heather Kirk, 5K runner in the 20 - 29 female age division.

Proceeds from the event will help to train and mentor future leaders, provide positive peer groups for students on elementary, middle and high school campuses across the area, facilitate school-wide assemblies to fight drug and alcohol abuse, and much more.

We would like to give a special thanks again to all of our participants and sponsors. We hope you will plan now to participate next year!
