Nancy's Success Story
Medical Diagnosis of Arterial Flutter
Symptoms: Prior
to her vitamin deficiency laboratory testing and starting her
therapeutic supplement and dietary plan, Nancy had the following
symptoms every four days, often lasting up to 8-9 hours:
Head sweaty
Rapid heart beat
Arterial flutter
Chest pain
Since starting her clinical nutrition program in October, 2009, she has had only three episodes of the above symptoms. She
has learned certain substances, like coffee, chocolate, and refined
sugar products are excito-toxins and trigger her symptoms.
Excito-toxins are referred to as "The Taste That Kills."
Though she
watches her diet closely, she is surprised to find these as hidden
substances and is becoming an avid label reader.

CLINICAL STUDIES
DON'T BE MISLED |
Don't be misled by Clinical Studies on the benefits of
Vitamin D or other vitamins, minerals or nutrients.
Though the benefits of these nutrients, as
reported in clinical studies, may be true, and often are, the human body (YOU) can
only receive these benefits when these nutrients are whole foods, whether the whole food is in raw, powdered, tablet or encapsulated.
In other words, only herbs, homeopathics, foods
(like proteins, fats, oils, vegetables, fruits, nuts grains and seeds that contain the nutrients as nature made them) and "whole food"
vitamin/mineral supplements can deliver the results reported in clinical
studies. Synthetic
Vitamins and Minerals are derived from non-food sources, like petroleum. Isolated vitamin/mineral are extracting or isolating one particular vitamin or mineral, discarding the other nutrients in the whole food from which it was derived.
Synthetic and Isolated vitamin/mineral supplements cannot deliver the results in these
clinical studies, at a cellular level where permanent healing takes place. The results reported are symptom relief from manipulating the biochemistry, just as chemical drugs too. Though chemicals are far more dangerous.
When they are discontinued, symptoms return.
Taking synthetic or isolated supplements on a daily basis will also cause you to
develop new nutrient-related health
challenges from their adverse affects on nutritional biochemistry (the
metabolism), the longer you take them, and they perpetuate the very deficiencies, for which you are taking them, thus making your deficiencies worse.
Unfortunately, synthetic and isolated vitamins and minerals are the typically the types of supplements sold to the public. Dr. Smith provides whole food vitamin/mineral, therapeutic supplements. Therapeutic, clinically-formulated supplements are available only through nutritional practitioners, like Dr. Smith.
Don't be misled - To correct Clinical and
Sub-Clinical deficiencies require "therapeutic" whole food vitamin/mineral
supplement and "therapeutic" herbs and homeopathics. Therapeutic supplements are clinically-formulated
to nourish, repair, detoxify and heal cells and tissues, and, thereby, correct the
abnormal nutrient levels (deficiencies and excesses), identified through nutritional
biochemical testing (blood, urine, saliva, hair, stool, etc.), to improve organ, gland and body system function.

VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY CONCLUSION |
Now
that you have an understanding of the nutritional requirements to obtain
sufficiency in Vitamin D and its related nutrients, you may agree that
improving the health of your nutritional biochemistry is more complicated than
you thought. This is why nutritional
testing and professional guidance is required by a clinical nutrition and
naturopathic healthcare provider, like Dr. Smith.
People are often misled into thinking
that just taking an over-the-counter (OTC) or by mail (BM) vitamin/mineral
supplement, based on their symptoms will do what they think it will do. Hopefully, now you understand that this is
not true.
Even
if you have received symptom relief from the OTC/BM supplements you are taking,
you may have noticed that if you tried to stop them, your symptoms would, in
time, return. This is because the
supplements you are taking are manipulating your symptoms, just like
drugs. They are not healing at a
cellular and tissue level or improving your deficiency levels, as you thought
they would.
To
continue taking them and avoid being tested for what you actually need will, in
time, if they have not already, create more and other nutrient-related symptoms
and diseases, as well as make your current deficiencies (for which you are
taking them) worse.
If
you began reading this article because you have a concern about your own
Vitamin D levels, see some or all of your symptoms in the Vitamin Deficiency
Symptoms List or you have been diagnosed with a Vitamin Deficiency, your first
thought when reading the Vitamin Deficiency Do's and Don'ts List, might have
been "Can I afford to do the Do's this?" Whether this meant can I afford the time,
energy or financial investment in my health?
After reading this issue of HealthQuest e-News, hopefully, you are now
thinking "I can't afford not to do this." "
If
you are experiencing symptoms related to Vitamin D deficiency these Do's and Don'ts must become a priority
to you at some time in your life, if not now, Or you will continue to suffer with
your current symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency, degenerative diseases will ensue,
and you will die prematurely. This is
also a scientific fact and I am sharing this truth with love.
You
can afford to do this, so will work together at the pace you can
handle. Remember -- How to you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time.

VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY
ARTICLE SUMMARY |
THE ROLE OF VITAMIN D - To transport Calcium and Phosphorus, stimulate the immune system and insulin production. Click for more. SYMPTOMS OF VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY- Vitamin Deficiency is the cause or contributing factor in symptoms of the bones, muscles, teeth, nerves, and brain, appetite cravings (esp. carbohydrate cravings), sleeplessness, high blood pressure, infectious disease, cancer, to name a few.
VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY "DO's"
- Sunlight - Click link for amount, frequency and what to do when its too cold to go outside.
- Maintain Cholesterol Balance: Cholesterol converts sunlight on the skin to Vitamin D. Low Cholesterol Diets and cholesterol inhibiting drugs (statins) cause Vitamin D Deficiency. Click link for ideal Cholesterol Blood Levels for adults over and under 65, how to bring high cholesterol levels into balance in a few months without using statin drugs, and heal your liver when damaged by statin drugs. Adults over 65 live longer with high cholesterol.
- Maintain Healthy Liver and Kidney Function: Vitamin
D is "activated" in your body by your kidneys and liver before it can
be used. If they are toxic, congested, and/or dysfunctional, this will
lead to D Deficiency, auto-immune, and a myriad of other health
challenges.
- Testing for Vitamin D Deficiency and Other Nutrient Deficiencies and Organ/Gland Dysfunctions that convert sunlight to Vitamin D or activate, metabolize, and transport Vitamin D to the cells and tissue, which can cause Vitamin D Deficiency.
- Correct Abnormal Levels Identified in Nutritional Biochemical Tests, and your body will heal and the above symptoms of Vitamin D will leave. Click link on how to do this. All clients start feeling better in just 3-6 weeks, or less.
- Maintain Sufficient Levels of Vitamin D: Click this link to learn how and what one Vitamin D supplement is safe and effective to maintain sufficient Vitamin D levels once attained or if your Vitamin D Saliva tests indicate you have sufficient Vitamin D at a cellular level. You will also receive a list of foods highest in Vitamin D and understand how the only way cow's milk products are acceptable as food for humans.
- Eat Whole Foods Highest in Vitamin D. Click link for list.
VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY "DON'Ts:
- Sunscreen Lotions/Gels: Using any sunblock or sunscreen over the entire body, prevents Vitamin D absorption
from sunlight. If you choose to use them, click link for organic sunscreen website and what to do to avoid overuse to prevent causing Vitamin D deficiency from sunscreens.
-
- Avoid Non-Aged Cheese and Non-Pasteurized, Non-Fermented Milk and Milk Products: Click link for the facts about cheese and milk.
- Avoid Vitamin D Supplements that are Synthetics, Isolates, and/or derivatives, none of these types of making vitamins will nourish the cells and tissues with a whole food Vitamin D. Only whole food Vitamin D prevents or can correct Vitamin D Deficiency. Avoid Getting Too Much Vitamin D from Vitamin D Supplements (and Synthetic Vitamin D in Fortified Vitamin D Foods) to
prevent Vitamin
D toxicity. This section provides a few symptoms of D toxicity. Next to Fortified foods/beverages, this is the next most frequent way people become Vitamin D Deficient. Professional guidance from Dr. Smith and Vitamin D testing
is required to monitored Vitamin D levels.

SYMPTOMS OF VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY
|
INTRODUCTION Because there are
also other nutrient deficiencies that can cause these same symptoms, except Rickets, it is best
to test before taking a vitamin or mineral supplement or you may be taking the wrong supplement.
The onset of Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency, or any nutrient deficiency, can occur at any level of deficiency, whether it is Sub-Clinical (insufficient), Clinical (deficient), or Medical (disease). Symptoms of Sub-Clinical Nutrient Deficiencies occur in the early stages of disease progression and are generally mild. Sub-Clinical levels, not corrected at this early stage, over time, become Clinical Nutrition Deficiencies and symptoms are moderate to severe. If not corrected at this stage, over time, then progress to nutrient-related diseases (Medical), where symptoms are chronic and, in time, terminal, if not corrected.
Clinical and Sub-Clinical Deficiencies can be identified only through a clinical nutrition interpretation of laboratory testing, not a medical interpretation.
Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency include: - Rickets is the
softening and weakening of the bones producing brittle bones, muscle and joint
aches, weakness and pain at any age.
-
Osteomalacia,
a bone-thinning disorder that occurs exclusively in adults and is
characterized by muscle weakness and bone fragility and musculoskeletal
pain. -
Osteoporosis,
a condition characterized by reduced
bone mineral density and bone fragility.
Vitamin D Deficiency is also observed in or causes:
- High Blood Pressure,
- Psoriasis,,
- Spinal Cord Injury
-
Cancer, including prostate cancer, colon cancer, breast
cancer, lung cancer, and ovarian cancer.
- Periodontal Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis,
- Fibromyalgia,
- Schizophrenia
- Chronic Pain,
-
Difficulty waking up in the morning,
-
Tendency to oversleep
-
Tendency to overeat, and especially a craving
for carbohydrates, which leads to weight gain,
-
Depression,
- Peripheral artery disease,
-
Cognitive impairment, which includes memory loss
and foggy brain,
-
Auto-immune diseases, including Type 1 Diabetes,
- Tuberculosis,
People with Parkinsons and Alzheimers have been found to have lower
levels of vitamin D.

VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY Do's |
INTRODUCTION Restoring Vitamin D Balance is not as
simple as just taking a Vitamin D supplement as most people, even
well-meaning health care providers, believe. After reading this issue,
you will understand why.To neglect to DO any of the following will, in time, lead to Vitamin D Deficiency and their symptoms, whether the deficiency is a sub-clinical nutritional deficiency, clinical nutritional deficiency or has progressed to a medical/ level, i.e., a Vitamin D related-disease, like Rickets or Osteoporosis. If you suspect you suffer with the symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency, contact Dr. Smith.
 #1 SUNLIGHT
Adequate UV-B (the sun rays required for Vitamin D production) can be achieved in less
time than it takes to cause any redness in the skin. It is never necessary to burn or tan to obtain sufficient vitamin D. Long hours in the sun at infrequent
intervals, when UV-B is present, suppresses the immune system. However, frequent low-level
exposure normalizes immune function, enhancing NK-cell and T-cell
production, reducing abnormal inflammatory responses typical of
autoimmune disorders, and reducing occurrences of infectious disease.
Anything that reduces infectious disease and strengthens the immune system cannot cause skin cancer. This is why the idea of the sun causing cancer is fiction. Cancer is created from within, not without, though it is possible to damage your skin from overexposure and artificial light rays, like tanning beds. Click here for HealthQuest eNews, Vol./Issue #56 (05/09) for causes of skin cancer. Contrary to what scientists originally believed, only sun between 10 am and 2 pm during summer months (or winter months
in southern latitudes) for 20-120 minutes, depending on skin type and
color, will form adequate vitamin D before burning occurs. It is best to delay showering or bathing for one hour after exposure to complete Vitamin D absorption.
The skin oils in which vitamin D is produced can also be removed by
chlorine in swimming pools. Swimming Pools that utilize Sea Salt, instead of chemicals, for pool maintenance are the only pools to swim in today.
In order
to achieve optimal levels of vitamin D, 85 percent of body surface needs
exposure. Light-skinned people need 10-20 minutes of exposure, while dark-skinned people
need 90-120 minutes. When less sunlight is available due to latitude or season, supplementation with BIFCLO is a must. Besides the health cautions associated with sunlamps and tanning beds, the latter, provides high levels
of UV-A, which from sun, or artificial rays, does not provide Vitamin D. #2 MAINTAIN CHOLESTEROL BALANCE:
You can receive adequate sunlight for Vitamin D production; however,
the body requires sufficient Cholesterol to convert sunlight to Vitamin
D. Therefore, Vitamin D deficiency can be caused
by Cholesterol inhibitor medicines, like statin drugs, and low
cholesterol
diets. Eating foods labeled as
"Low Cholesterol, Low Fat, Light, Lite, Fat Free, Low Fat, 2%, No
Fat," not only leads to Vitamin D deficiency, it also interferes with
your
body's ability to manage pain. [Note: Cholesterol is
required for healthy brain function and hormone balance (thyroid,
adrenals, male, female, etc. and Essential Fatty Acids are our body's
natural pain regulators. The Fiction the public has been sold regarding
Low Cholesterol - Low Fat diets has lead to more pain, mental,
emotional, male/female health challenges, today, than any other time in
history.]
For
your cholesterol to be in homeostasis, which is perfect biochemical balance (i.e., perfect health), your blood test
values must be:
Adults
under Age 65 - Values 180 - 200
Adults
over Age 65 - Values over 200 (see below*)
Children
- values are different according to age, weight, etc. and not provided in this
article. Contact Dr. Smith for this.
To correct Cholesterol Imbalance - Too High or Too Low: Contact Dr. Smith for a Cholesterol Balancing Nutritional Support Program. Our clients generally reach cholesterol
balance in 1-3 months, depending upon the severity of your current level of
High or Low Cholesterol at the onset. Our
clients are, also, coached on how to maintain healthy cholesterol once
attained.
Liver-Damaging Drugs Lead To Cholesterol Imbalance:
Physicians
routinely run blood tests to monitor the Liver for patients taking
cholesterol-lowering drugs, and other drugs, that, in time, can
lead to dysfunction and damage the liver. When the body does not receive sufficient Cholesterol from foods, the liver is designed to produce Cholesterol. This is how important Cholesterol is to the healthy function of the human body. Dr. Smith's Clinical Nutrition Cholesterol Balancing Program will safely, effectively, with no
side effects, balances your cholesterol and is designed to improve liver
function, even if you have previously been on drugs that have adversely
affected your liver.
* Click here for an Introduction to Dr. Smith's article on "Heart Disease - High Cholesterol or Liver Dysfunction." This article provide additional scientific facts about cholesterol, its role and function in promoting
health,
why cholesterol drugs are dangerous and not necessary to reduce
cholesterol,
how normal cholesterol levels can be obtained without drugs and much
more. This article also provides the references on
the clinical research for Cholesterol levels for adults over 65. This
article is available for $15. To order call (940) 761-4045. #3 MAINTAIN HEALTHY LIVER AND KIDNEY FUNCTION
Vitamin
D is "activated" in your body by your kidneys and liver before it can
be used. If the liver and kidneys are toxic, congested, and/or dysfunctional, as decades of clinical nutrition testing has proven is the case for all clients who seek our help, this will
lead to Vitamin D Deficiency, as well as auto-immune diseases and a myriad of other health
challenges. Contact Dr. Smith for a 30-Day Full Body Detoxification Program, and do this 1-2 times a year, to keep your liver, kidneys, bladder, stomach, lymphatic system, skin, small and large intestines healthy. Visit any On-Site Clinic, sponsored by Advanced Clinical Nutrition, such as our annual Christmas Magic On-Site Clinic for a 20% Special Event Discount. Check our web page, "Seminar Announcements" for posting of upcoming On-Site Clinics..
#4 TESTING FOR VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY
With 40% of Americans currently experiencing the symptoms and diseases of Vitamin D Deficiency, which means four out of every 10 people, it is essential to obtain Vitamin D Deficiency testing. Count the number of people in your circle of family and friends - this means almost 50% of them are currently suffering from Vitamin D Deficiency, including yourself. Which Test Determine True Vitamin D Deficiency?
Vitamin D Deficiency Testing is more than
identifying if you have a deficiency in Vitamin D, and requires more than just a blood test. - To scientifically identify if you actually have a
deficiency in Vitamin D Deficiency requires saliva testing.
- and if
your saliva tests indicates you are deficient in Vitamin D, this is the only
time when taking a Vitamin D supplement will be beneficial and is
required.
- You should never take a Vitamin D Supplement without being tested first. To do so, can lead to getting too much of or the wrong type of Vitamin D, which can lead to the symptoms and diseases related to Vitamin D toxicity and cause symptoms related to dysfunctions in activation, conversion, and transportation of Vitamin D, which further perpetuate and make Vitamin D Deficiency more severe.
- And there is only one type of Vitamin D Supplement (see below) that you should take on a daily basis without the professional guidance of a Clinical Nutritionist or Naturopathic Doctor.
- Before taking nutritional advice from any doctor, ask if he/she has completed post-graduate studies in clinical nutrition and if not, get a second opinion from a healthcare practitioner, who has a Ph.D. in Clinical Nutrition or is a Naturopathic Doctor, like Dr. Smith. This cannot be emphasized too strongly. Hopefully, you are understanding from this article that correcting Vitamin D Deficiency is not as simple as just taking a Vitamin D supplement in a capsule, tablet or powder form.
Biochemical Nutritional Tests Required To Determine Vitamin D Function and DeficiencyAmong its many functions, (Refer to The Role of Vitamin D), Vitamin D regulates over 200 genes through binding
vitamin D receptors throughout the body and regulates normal cell differentiation
and proliferation (e.g., to prevent cancer) Thus, you can have sufficient Vitamin D and still have the symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency. Why? Because your Vitamin D may not be getting to the cells and tissue of the organs, glands and body systems that require it to function healthfully.
Therefore, the following tests are required to determine if you have sufficient or deficient levels in :
- Cholesterol to convert Vitamin D. This requires Lipid Panel of four blood tests,
- the specific minerals that metabolize Vitamin D, which requires a Tissue Mineral Hair Analysis/Test,
- and liver and kidney function tests are required, which determine if they are activating Vitamin D. Just because your liver and kidneys are not diseased, does not mean they are functioning biochemically at the level required to activate Vitamin D.
Deficiencies, biochemical imbalances, organ or gland dysfunctions, in any one or more of the above, will cause Vitamin D Deficiency and its related symptoms and diseases. Advanced
Clinical Nutrition provides all of the above Vitamin D Deficiency and related tests, whereas, your physician, generally, tests only Vitamin D levels in the
blood. Whatever tests your physician orders to diagnosis your Vitamin D Deficiency, ask for copies for your own records and fax, email or mail copies to Dr. Smith. Why? A Clinical Nutrition Interpretation of any Laboratory Report is different than a Medical Interpretation. Click here for more information on this subject. What Is Not Commonly Known About Vitamin D Deficiency, Symptoms and Testing:
You Can Have Sufficient Vitamin D and Still Experience the Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency. If Vitamin D
is not transported to the cells and tissue, due to any one or more of the above factors, you will, in time, experience the
symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency, even if you do not actually have a deficiency
in Vitamin D (according to your saliva tests), depending upon where the breakdown is in these biochemical
processes, thus the need for testing each of the following tests. Additionally, if you have sufficient Vitamin D, and the above deficient nutrients (Cholesterol and minerals) and other factors (liver/kidney function) that activate, convert, and transport your Vitamin D, are not corrected, in time, retesting your saliva at a future date, will show cellular levels of
either Vitamin D deficiency or excess and you will no longer have sufficient
Vitamin D
. Blood Tests Can Show Normal, High or Low Vitamin D and You Can Still Have Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency, even if you have sufficient Vitamin D, depending upon whether you have Cholesterol to convert sunlight to Vitamin D, the
transporting minerals responsible for taking the Vitamin D to or from the blood
are doing their job, and/or your liver and kidneys are functioning well enough to activate the Vitamin D. You may, also, have a sub-clinical or clinical nutritional level of Vitamin D deficiency, which does not show in a medical interpretation of a Laboratory Report of your blood tests. However, it can be identified by a clinical nutrition interpretation of your Lab Report. To obtain this, fax your blood tests from your physician to Dr. Smith for analysis or Dr. Smith can order them for you. (More on this below) SYMPTOMS CAN FEEL THE SAME, whether your Vitamin D is currently at a sub-clinical or clinical nutrient deficiency level OR a medical level. At a sub-clinical level, you experience symptoms that are infrequent and mild to moderate, at a clinical level, you experience frequent and severe symptoms of organ/gland dysfunctions and when at a medical level, you experience chronic and severe symptoms of disease in the same organ/gland having progressed from dysfunction to disease..
 If
the minerals to transport Vitamin D to the blood are deficient, Vitamin D
levels in the blood will show deficient (low) and if the minerals to transport Vitamin D from the blood to the cells and
tissues are deficient, Vitamin D will stay and accumulate in the blood, thus
Vitamin D blood tests will be high (in excess).
Therefore,
if you were relying ONLY on Vitamin D Blood tests, you and the health care
provider, who diagnosed you with a Vitamin D deficiency, will miss the other factors that the true cause for
your symptoms of Vitamin D imbalance.
Additionally if your saliva is not tested to identify if you truly have a deficiency
in the nutrient called "Vitamin D, or not, and you choose to take a Vitamin D
supplement based on blood tests, alone, in time, this will cause your body to
have too much Vitamin D and you will experience the symptoms of elevated (high)
Vitamin D levels and/or Vitamin D toxicity.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MEDICAL AND NUTRITIONAL INTERPRETATION
OF VITAMIN D BLOOD TESTS
Having
explained the importance and purpose of saliva and hair testing in identifying
Vitamin D Deficiency and why making decisions based upon Vitamin D blood tests,
alone, is not a complete evaluation, here are a few other facts about Vitamin D Blood
Testing that you need to know.
A medical interpretation of Vitamin D
blood tests
identifies levels that are disease-related or life-threatening, when the levels
are either above or below the numerical reference range in the right column,
on a Blood Chemistry Laboratory Report. When they are within the reference range, your Vitamin D levels are
diagnosed as being "medically" normal (i.e., not diseased). Though this is great news, because it means you do not have a Vitamin D Deficiency - related disease, this does not mean you are "nutritionally" sufficient in Vitamin D, i.e., homeostasis).
A clinical nutrition interpretation identifies clinical
and sub-clinical levels of Vitamin Deficiency (or excess) that affect
biochemical balance and organ/gland dysfunction, which precedes disease
levels. Therefore, the numerical
reference range for nutritional interpretation are different than the reference
ranges for medical interpretation and nutritional reference ranges are based on
homeostasis (i.e., nutritional biochemical balance). When a Clinical Interpretation of your Blood Chemistry Laboratory Report indicate levels are in
homeostasis, this is the true definition of health. In the case of Vitamin D, this means that
you have the perfect (i.e., healthy) level of Vitamin D IN THE BLOOD, which is also good news. However, - it does not mean that you have:sufficient Vitamin D in the cells and tissue of your body, as this is determined by saliva testing, and
- it does not mean that the Vitamin D in the blood or saliva is being transported to the cells and tissue, as this is determined by mineral sufficiency
identified in your hair test..
If
your medical interpretation indicates you are "medically" normal, the next step
is to obtain a nutritional interpretation of your Vitamin D Blood Chemistry
Laboratory Reports. Why? Because, though you have ruled out Vitamin
D-related disease as a cause for your symptoms, which is good news, your
symptoms may be caused by clinical or sub-clinical Vitamin D blood levels,
which can only be identified through a nutritional interpretation of Laboratory
Reports.
Additionally,
if clinical and sub-clinical level Vitamin D deficiencies or excesses are not
corrected at this level, in time, they will continue to progress further and further
out of balance until one day, they will be identified as "medically" abnormal
and you will be experiencing the symptoms of a Vitamin D related disease.
Therefore,
a nutritional interpretation of blood level Vitamin D is important to determine
Vitamin D nutrient-related factors that affect the body's ability to activate, convert, metabolize and transport Vitamin D successfully, or not.
Thus, again, this leads to experiencing the
symptoms of Vitamin Deficiencies, even though you do not have a deficiency in
the nutrient called, "Vitamin D."
. 5. CORRECT ABNORMAL FINDINGS IN TEST RESULTS
A Clinical Nutrition Program, which
consists of therapeutic, whole food supplements and a dietary plan, will be
designed to correct the abnormal values from a nutritional interpretation of
the above Vitamin D and its related tests (blood, saliva and hair).
Coaching through Telephone
consultations are provided to assist you in implementing each Do and avoiding
each Don't, as they apply to your specific needs, until you have made
permanent, lasting lifestyle changes affecting Vitamin D balance.
Within 3-6 weeks of starting a personalized
clinical nutrition program, your symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency and/or its
related nutrient deficiencies and organ/gland dysfunctions, will begin to leave. Normal Clinical Nutrition Values indicated from Retesting, not lack of symptoms, determine when Vitamin D Deficiency and its related nutrients, organs and glands have been restored.
6. MAINTAIN SUFFICIENT LEVELS OF
VITAMIN D AND OTHER NUTRIENTS, ORGAN/GLAND FUNCTION AFFECTING VITAMIN D LEVELS:
If your initial Vitamin D Testing (click here to return to #4-Tests) indicate sufficient Vitamin D and other related nutrients, etc, OR they have been restored to sufficient levels and function based on your Clinical Nutrition Program (Click her to return to #5-Correct Abnormal Levels above), you will be coached on how to maintain these sufficient levels and organ/gland function.
Retesting once or twice a year, depending upon your specific needs, is recommend, thereafter, (similar to an annual medical
check-up), to monitor your ability to maintain sufficient levels and function.
What Can I Do For Myself Now?- Adhere to the guidelines in the above section on Vitamin D Deficiency DO's.

VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY DON'TS
|
People may have Vitamin D Deficiency as a result
of one or more of the following causes:
#1 AVOID SUNSCREEN LOTIONS/GELS: Using any sunscreen or sunblock over the entire body, prevents Vitamin D absorption
from sunlight. If you choose to use them, use only organic sunscreens and apply only to sensitive areas, like the nose, under eyes, on cheeks, and tops of shoulders. Non-organic sunscreens contain chemical
additives and preservatives, which are absorbed through the skin and toxic to
the body. The media has done a good job of spreading the public Fiction about using sunscreen to protect yourself against skin cancer. For the Facts, read the section on Sunlight in the Vitamin D Deficiency DO's and HealthQuest eNews, Vol./Issue 56 (05/09) in our Archive of Past Issues. Dr. Smith recommends using Aloe Vera Gel, instead of sunscreen, and still only on sensitive areas. You may purchase this from Dr. Smith by calling (940) 761-4045. What is even better is using a real Aloe plant,
break off the leaf and take it with you, keeping it in a cooler until ready for use. Then open the leave and apply the aloe to sensitive areas.
#2 AVOID DRINKING BEVERAGES AND EATING FOODS FORTIFIED WITH SYNTHETIC
VITAMIN D, such as Milk, Fruit Juices, Sports Drinks, Cereals and other
packaged foods and beverages. Why? The body cannot metabolize synthetic Vitamin D and because it is not whole food Vitamin D, it cannot nourish the cells and tissue. What happens to it in the body? What the body cannot eliminate, stays in the body, rots and infects tissue, which leads to inflammation and inflammation causes pain. For the same reason, avoid all refined and processed foods and beverages, which also contain synthetic vitamins and chemical additives and preservatives. Since the
1940's and 50's when the food industry began refining and processing foods to
remove their innate enzymes and other nutrients, and then included chemical
additives, preservatives and synthetic, fortified minerals and vitamins, like
Vitamin D, to increase shelf-life for monetary gain, Vitamin D deficiency, as
well as other nutrient deficiencies, have been on the rise. Thus, today, people are suffering from symptoms of sub-clinical and clinical nutritional deficiencies, as much as they are from their later stages, called "disease." Next to lack of sunlight, Fortified Vitamin D Food/Beverage Products are the second leading cause for the high and continued rise in Vitamin D Deficiency today. Click here for more information on the History of Vitamin D Deficiency Warnings in this issue. #3
AVOID PROCESSED FOODS WHICH CAUSE CHOLESTEROL
IMBALANCE (HIGH & LOW). AVOID CHOLESTEROL INHIBITING DRUGS THAT MANIPULATE AND, IN TIME, DAMAGE THE LIVER. For example, Cholesterol
inhibitor medicines, like statin drugs, and low cholesterol and low fat diets. Avoid eating foods labeled as "Low
Cholesterol, Low Fat, Light, Lite, Fat Free, Low Fat, 2%, No Fat," You need foods in their whole form/state to nourish the cells, tissue, organs, glands and body systems. For more information on the above, order these two articles by Dr.Smith Click this link to read an Introduction on both articles below::Article #1
"What Is Inside Our Cells Is Proof Drugs Don't Heal!" This article includes the " Diagram of the Metabolism of the Cell Pathways"Article #2"High Cholesterol - The Myth: Heart Disease or Liver Dysfunction?" #4 AVOID NON-AGED CHEESE AND NON-PASTEURIZED, NON-FERMENTED MILK AND MILK PRODUCTS: CHEESE: If you want to eat cheese, eat only white, aged cheese. Read your
labels closely. Fermented dairy products are healthy for the human body, like yogurt, sour creams, cream cheeses, buttermilk, etc., in moderation. SOURED MILK: Today, if you want to drink milk, which is not necessary to be healthy, choose Milk from Almonds, Rice or Goat's
Milk. The only acceptable cow's milk products are "soured milk" products, in moderation. Click here for List from this Soured Milk Products Diagram. Look in the lower-left corner of the Diagram for the color that represents soured milk and other sour milk products, like Kefir. Note: The human stomach cannot digest milk directly from a cow - its molecular structure was designed for a baby calf. Soured and fully fermented milk and their products contain friendly organisms that change the molecular structure to a human digestible form.
#5 AVOID TAKING SYNTHETIC and ISOLATED VITAMIN D SUPPLEMENTS: All Vitamin D supplements sold to the public
are synthetic or isolates (i.e., the vitamin is derived from, isolated or extracted from the whole food and bottled).in tablets, capsules, powder, etc., except for the one safe and effective supplement Dr. Smith recommended. in Vitamin D Deficiency DO's.. Neither synthetic or isolated Vitamin D are whole food
nutrients and, therefore, cannot and will not nourish the cells and tissues requiring
Vitamin D, such as your muscles, bones, joints and nerves. They interfere with Vitamin D
metabolism and manipulate nutritional biochemistry, just like drugs. In time, they also cause other health
challenges, as well as perpetuating your Vitamin D deficiency.
 Vitamin
D toxicity can develop from getting too much.
Some of the symptoms of Vitamin D toxicity include: nausea, vomiting, weakness, and
nervousness. Click here for the Conclusion of this article on Vitamin D Deficiency.

MEDICAL EXPERTS IGNORED VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY FACTS FOR YEARS |
HISTORICAL
FACTS ABOUT VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY WARNINGS:
Medical Experts denied for years
the possibility of decreased Vitamin D levels impacting millions of people by
causing all types of degenerative diseases.
After all, they said, the
America diet is full of Vitamin D-fortified foods.
These
"experts" were told by nutritionists and alternative doctors that
only real Vitamin D (whole food Vitamin D) would meet human requirements.
However, they ridiculed the concept and now they are this evidence in millions.

have you can order online at: Frontier Co-Op Bulk Organic Herbs. DiamondOrganics.com also has organic herbs, spices, cane sugar, etc. INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 50 minutes. Mix and stir all the ingredients above in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Pour the mixture into the pan with the pie crust.
Bake on the bottom oven rack until the ingredients are puffed around the edges and the center is set, around 50 minutes.
heck the pie halfway through and if the crust is browning too quickly, cover it with parchment paper and then foil over the paper. The parchment paper prevents the aluminum in the foil from getting into the food. The foil holds the parchment paper securely around the pie.* Cool before serving.
Note: Aluminum is one of the causes of Alzheimer's Disease, so use this tip whenever you need to use foil. For example, when we bake potatoes, we cover the potato first with parchment paper and then wrap it with foil.
APRICOT PUREE'RECIPE: (Makes 2 cups) 1 and 1/2 cups dried apricots 2 cups of boiled Reverse Osmosis purified water 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed Lemon juice 2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract 1 1/2 cups of organic whole cane sugar, optional
INSTRUCTIONS:
Place dried apricots in a large bowl and pour the boiling water over them. Cover with a lid and soak for two hours. Drain the apricots and reserving 1/4 cup of the soaked apricot liquid. PIE CRUST RECIPE: 1 cup (about 2 sticks) unsalted
organic butter, plus more for pie plate
2 1/2 cups organic all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling out dough
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon organic sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut each stick of butter into eight pieces, and
refrigerate until needed.
- Place the flour, salt, and sugar in a large mixing
bowl, and mix to combine.
- Add the chilled butter. Using a pastry blender,
incorporate the butter into the flour mixture; the mixture should resemble
coarse meal with small pieces of butter, the size of small peas, remaining
visible.
- Drizzle 2 tablespoons ice water over the flour-butter
mixture, and blend. Repeat with an additional 2 tablespoons water. At this
point, you may have to add more water: When a handful of dough squeezed
together just holds its shape, you've added enough; if the dough crumbles,
continue incorporating water, 1 tablespoon at a time, checking the
consistency after each additional tablespoon.
- Turn the dough out onto a clean work surface. Divide
into two equal pieces, and place on two separate sheets of plastic wrap.
Flatten, and form two disks. Wrap, and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
- Lightly dust a clean, dry work surface with flour.
Place the chilled dough in the center of the work surface, and dust the
dough as well as the rolling pin with flour. Position the rolling pin on
the center of the disk, and begin rolling the dough away from you. Give
the disk a quarter turn, and roll again. Continue turning and rolling
until you have an even 1/8-inch thickness. Turning the dough as you roll
will prevent it from sticking to the work surface. A dry pastry brush is
handy to remove any excess flour during and after the rolling process.
- Lightly butter the pie plate. To minimize stretching
when moving the dough, roll it around the pin, lift up, and unroll over
the buttered pie plate. Using your fingers, gently pat the dough into
place. Trim any excess dough with a paring knife or kitchen shears,
leaving a 1-inch overhang; then fold dough under to reinforce the edge.
