Safety is about the fit.
Football helmets and shoulder pads are most effective when athletes are wearing appropriately-sized equipment.  A proper fit is essential.  Make sure that you read the warning and proper care labels on your pads and helmets.

Joe's Presidents Corner

This is the "November to Remember."
You will know soon (if you don't already) what those memories involve.

Is this your finest season or are you disappointed with the results?
All One Million AYF Members cannot win First Place.  The results of your season may be a sign of how hard you worked. Your team or squad may have developed the right chemistry to come together when it counts the most. We hear all the time, "an athlete's finest hour is when one has given everything of ones self, exhausted and victorious."  AYF/AYC Nationals - Florida here we come! This is the best feeling in the whole world. Feel the love and embrace the moment.  You're in the Zone.  Life is good.  Nothing's gonna stop us now!

But what if your kids worked hard and came up short?  What if they cared for each other and yet made that one mistake?   Did you have to take off work to hide your hurt? Did you think,  IF only!  Why Us ? Why Me? ...

Here is a question. What did you spend all your time building-- Did you build a dream or just something that is posted on the score board?  Did you build on a dream of intrinsic self-worth that can not be measured?
Chances are, the best time your kids experienced was not even on the field or the mats. Think about when you were a kid - the memories are of that night at the Pizza Restaurant when everybody laughed, cried, and hoped the night would never end or getting stranded in the storm or how you went out of your way to make that new student feel welcome.

You don't realize what you built. It is what is inside that matters. Buildings that are constructed with the intention to look nice often employ excess sand in its concrete. Buildings that are strong don't always look nice but they can withstand earthquakes and hurricanes. Not winning a first place is not the end of the world, it isn't even an earthquake.

Rudyard Kipling said, "If you can dream - and not make dreams your master. If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim. If you can meet with triumph and disaster. And treat those two imposters just the same. ---------Your's is the earth and everything that's in it!"

If you taught the values of honest work, effort and teamwork, it will last longer than any celebration after a trophy ceremony. Your dream has built the values and intangibles that last a lifetime. Thank you for helping kids and your community.
