Creditors File Involuntary Bankruptcy Motion Against Eastern Livestock Co.
In November federal agriculture officials filed a complaint against Eastern Livestock Co., accusing the company of owing over 700 producers approximately $130 million. Consumers trust American ranchers for a reason.  We've all heard the saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and we understand its meaning, but when it's time to implement a cure, there are several factors that can and will make a difference in how well the cure will work.  Since the discovery of penicillin by Dr. Alexander Fleming in 1928, the survival rate of humans as well as their animal dependents has greatly increased.  Today, antibiotics are perhaps the single most important medical tool that many of us possess when it comes to "curing" animal health problems.  However, the effectiveness of these drugs depends on many things including application, handling, storage, injection sites, expiration dates and other specific factors.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Weaning time in the Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  However, as is life, there is a downside.  Fall and weaning mean a lot of good things such as more saddle time, calving, and cooler weather just to name a few.  What comes with that is, cold feet and hands, sore muscles, and working Sunday mornings.  I'm a firm believer in a God-appointed day of rest.  The deal is, though, that those freshly weaned calves need to eat everyday just like us.  So, that means the days of sleeping in on Sunday mornings are gone, at least, that is, until late Spring.  And of course, as is life, most days are problem free, unless, of course, you just want to get the chores done and get back into a warm house and spend a little down time with the family before church.
