First Feature
Celtic Woman
CELTIC WOMAN Since their inception in 2004, Celtic Woman have won legions of fans through their Concerts and Public Television Specials. In May, the popular Irish Group will be performing Southern California. The Celtic Woman have won great acclaim for their performances because of their total dedication to their art. This is the second installment in a Three Part Series profiling all of the individual members of the group.
Máiréad Nesbitt
County Tipperary born Máiréad Nesbitt has been playing the fiddle since the age of six and she is a former All-Ireland Fiddle Champion. Not only is she part of a large musical family; Nesbitt received exceptional training in music in Ireland and Britain and finished with post graduate studies under Emanuel Hurwitz on violin and piano. She is also a past member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.
"Energy" and "Beauty' are the two words that Mairead feels best describe what she strives for as a musician and as a person. Nesbitt certainly brings those two qualities with her on stage with Celtic Woman. Add in vibrant, beautiful and charming and you start to realize what an incredible multi-talented person you are experiencing. She is a wonderful dancer and also a tremendous traditional and classical violinist.
Due to this versatility and her intense playing and stage presence, Nesbitt was invited by Sharon Browne of Celtic Collections and David Downes to become a soloist in the show 'Celtic Woman'. "It's been great for me," she says." I've been given a lot of flexibility on stage in both the way I play as well as from a visual point of view because I do a lot of moving around." More about Mairead can be obtained on her website: www.maireadnesbitt.com

About the SIT DOWN COMIC
David Kellaghan was born in Mullingar, county Westmeath, Ireland. He was raised on a farm outside of Kinnegad, his local village. He attended college in Athlone and after a brief stint in London and then Dublin emigrated to the US in 1996. He lives in Chicago with his wife and their two children.
Kelleghan was diagnosed with MS in 1999. For a time his symptoms were
mild but later became more aggressive, eventually putting him in a
wheelchair. Having done stand-up comedy for a time, Kelleghan decided to
resurrect himself as the sit-down comic. A realist and optimist,
Kelleghan told us simply, "Laughter is the best medicine after all!" Insert a "read on" link at the bottom of your article to drive traffic to your website. Links are tracked, allowing you to see which articles create the most interest for your readers. |

Wells Of Life
Our great friend, Nick Jordan told us about Well of Life late last year. Jordan is the co-founder of this group and he has dedicated a lot of energy, money and time to obtaining clean water for some wonderful people, most of them children, who need our help. We are now back on track to do our best to help this fine organization drill an IRISH E-MISSIVE READERS Well in Africa. Please help if you can. We mentioned this project a few months ago for the first time. The dreadful earthquakes in Haiti and Chile distracted us but now we really need your donations, moral support and word of mouth help to make this happen.
www.wellsoflifeafrica.org
Call our publisher Jim McDonough (785 341-6923) or Luanne (949 885-7141) at Nick Jordan's office to get involved.
