JA India Roll of Honor 2010

Greetings!

Happy New Year 2011! As 2011 rolls into its second week, we take this opportunity to thank you for your time and effort in establishing the JA Cause -- Helping the young student prepare better for their future. January is special for JA India. JA India commenced its first classroom session in January 2007, with then nascent JA Careers with a Purpose program, at Rani Sarala Devi School (Bangalore). In 4 years, JA Volunteers reached 80,000+ students across several cities, towns and villages. Over Apr - Nov 2010, Volunteers reached 40,000 students -- 26,000 of them through JA Careers with a Purpose program! SEEK, VISTA, Factory Model and TRPA are now part of daily lexicon for many in the JA fraternity.

What is the way ahead? A sharper focus on choice of programs and sustained connect with the JA student.
JA India's Facebook presence and Portal reaches 2500+ stakeholders, 30%+ of whom are actively engaged each week. This is helpful yet staying in touch with the JA student beyond the classroom remains a challenge.

You read our communique on JA Users' Mobile Platform. Through a gradual and sustained process, we would be taking this platform deeper into the student community. JUMP on if you have not already. Send an SMS (See SMS format below) to 9790818184.

Last yet the most important purpose of this mail: We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of the 460 volunteers on JA India Roll of Honor 2010It is an honor to present to you the 2010 Roll of Honor as well as the FIRST JA FELLOW Mathivanan Elangovan. Such is his passion and drive, Mathi (as he is fondly known) is more of an urban legend in the JA India community.

We also take this opportunity to thank the unsung heroes at JA India, many of whom have been personally responsible for building the programs and program concepts  - be it Arvind Ramachandra who coined SEEK, Natesh Kare who scheduled the first JA Classroom, the team of VK Easwaran, HR Kiran, Muraleedhar Pai and Jayaraman G who built JA Inside Industry program, pioneer volunteers Sandeep Dham, PS Venkatesh who led some of the first classroom sessions, Saurabh Zindal who set up the Chennai operations, Satyajit Nath who runs JA programs in Guwahati, Ramesh Shah who reached JA to Surat and now helping us reach Ahmedabad or the very first set of Program Managers (Shaveta Nayyar, Gomathy Balasubramanian, Ramlath Kavil, Shalini Bhambhani) who contributed in setting the foundation of JA network.

Thank you for the support. A small gesture for all your selflessness, yet a gesture that is most sincerely conveyed. We look forward to your support in 2011.
