Happy Holidays from ARB!

Thank you for being a part of the American Repertory Ballet Community.  We hope you'll agree that ARB has accomplished a tremendous amount this year, and we're looking forward to an exciting 2011 season.  This year:

  • ARB Company Director Douglas Martin debuted a new production of The Nutcracker with new choreography and restored Act I scenes by founder Audrée Estey
  •  Princeton Ballet School packed the house for the annual school show of The Sleeping Beauty; continued to provide top quality training to 1500 students; and launched a new Trainee program for post-high school students wishing to train towards a professional career
  • ARB's DANCE POWER program introduced dance to another 800 students in the New Brunswick Public School District and provided over $70,000 in scholarships to DANCE POWER graduates studying at Princeton Ballet School
  • ARB's Access & Enrichment Program launched On Pointe, a monthly in-studio lecture/performance series designed to give our community an inside peek into the dance world, and continued to provide educational experiences to students through master classes, residencies and assembly programs

The demand and interest for ARB's performances and education work is increasing.  But we do need your support to keep it happening.

You may ask yourself, particularly in these tough economic times, why dance? And why American Repertory Ballet?  Please understand that your investment in American Repertory Ballet helps us to opens people's minds and bodies to the transformational impacts of danceDance has the ability to speak across cultures and differences and provides food for the soul.  The impact of your donation to ARB is three-fold: you're supporting an award-winning professional dance company, bolstering arts education programs, and igniting social change by inspiring a new generation of dance enthusiasts.

donate buttonWe have great things planned for 2011. With your support we can continue to:

  • Support our dancers. ARB dancers serve as role models and educators for students in the Princeton Ballet School and the community.  With your support, we can keep ARB dancers doing their important work within our community and inspiring us all with their performances.
  • Strengthen our school.  Princeton Ballet School's faculty includes some of the best talent in the area, and our commitment to live accompaniment imbues young dancers with a unique appreciation for the relationship between dance and music.
  • Enrich the community.  Our Access & Enrichment programs, which include the well known DANCE POWER program and the new On Pointe program, provide opportunities to populations who would not otherwise have access, and serve the community by providing in-depth programming that helps create dance enthusiasts.

Thanks to all the Princeton Ballet School students and families who participated in this year's Nutcracker.  Your performances were delightful, inspiring and very professional.

Princeton Ballet School students will have the opportunity to perform in another full scale production this May when Princeton Ballet School presents Coppélia.  A classic comedic ballet, this fantastical love story is always a favorite.  To find more about the production, visit our Access and Enrichment website.  Students wishing to participate, should CLICK HERE.
