Michael Crawford, Alexander Dutko, Audra Johnson, and Joshua Kurtzberg will be returning this season. Brittany Fridenstine, a former ARB dancer, will also return to the company.
New Company members this season include Michelle de Fremery, who joins ARB after working with New Jersey Ballet and Nimbus Dance Works; Marc St Pierre, who joins us from the Roxey Ballet; and PBS alums Stephen Campanella and Jennifer Gladney. Samantha Gullace, Edward Urwin and Trisha Wolf round out the company as apprentices.
Photo: Valerie Ford | Returning dancer Audra Johnson is
thrilled to be working with Company Director Douglas Martin this
season: "I have been taking Douglas's classes since 2003, before I joined
ARB the
following year. He continues to challenge me technically, and pushes my artistic personality as well. He is an excellent coach and has
been one
the major influences in my growth as an artist. It will be a pleasure and a
privilege to
work with him in rehearsals on a daily basis. Douglas' vision for the
company is also very exciting. We will be
performing more classical ballets and also keeping contemporary works
in our
repertory, which will showcase our diversity and strength as a
company. I
feel the rep he is bringing in next season along with his future goals
and
desires for the company, will be artistically satisfying and our
audiences will
enjoy our performances as well."
Tickets are now on sale for The Nutcracker, which the company will present from November 26th-December 19th in venues around NJ. It's not too soon to buy your tickets to performances at McCarter Theater in Princeton and for the The State Theatre in New Brunswick. Stay tuned for ticket information at our other venues.
And Save-the-Dates for this spring: March 5th, the company will return to Raritan Valley Community College Theater; March 12th the organization will host the annual Gala at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial; and the company will premier a revival of Twyla Tharp's "Eight Jelly Rolls" the weekend of May 20th at Rutgers University's New Theater.
Stay tuned for the full company and season announcement...
