Greetings!
ARB would like to extend a HUGE thank you to its Board of Trustees and everyone who answered their fundraising Challenge last month

Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, we were able to raise over $92,000 in one month to help us close out our fiscal year on more sound footing for next season.

The Company, the School and the Education and Outreach Programs all have exciting news to share.  Read on for links to videos, insider blogs, and more...

ARB Company News
While the Company is on its usual Summer Break, Director Douglas Martin is busy planning the Upcoming 2010-2011 Season

This year, ARB will return to some of PBS founder Audrée Estey's staging of The Nutcracker. Martin will direct the new production which will appear on stage this holiday season at venues including McCarter Theater in Princeton, Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton and the State Theatre in New Brunswick.

This spring, the company plans to premier a revival of Twyla Tharp's "Eight Jelly Rolls" thanks to the generous NEA grant we recently received.  Martin also plans to include Phillip Jerry's "Our Town" and new works by Patrick Corbin and Trinette Singleton in the repertory.

Stay tuned for the full company and season announcement...
Princeton Ballet School Summer News
Summer Intensive 2010 is under way!

School Director Mary Pat Robertson and Company Director Douglas Martin lead the all-star SI faculty this year which includes Mary Barton (ARB, Joffrey), Maria Youskevitch (ABT), Kyra Nichols (NYCB) and Kathleen Moore (ABT).

This year's choreographic workshop will be led by former Twyla Tharp dancer Kate Glasner.  Glasner is currently Assistant Chair and Senior Associate in the Dance Department at Barnard in NYC and was a long time member of the PBS faculty.

Special guest artists in the program include Muriel Hallé (Paris Opéra Ballet), Kirk Peterson (ABT), and Jeanne Solan (Lar Lubovitch, Nederlans Dans Theater).

The SI will culminate with a final performance which will include George Balanchine's "Serenade" restaged by Nichols; a suite from "Giselle" restaged by Youskevitch; original works by Barton and Robertson; and student choreography developed in Glasner's workshop.

Summer Intensive Intermediates is going strong in Cranbury with Peggy Petteway Mahoney and Katie Scibienski at the helm, while Kate Castranova leads the Summer Intensive Juniors on the Princeton University campus.  The programs offer younger dancers daily technique classes, variations, dance history, anatomy, dance composition, and performance skills.
