Change in Software License Pricing Model
Effective with the v4.5 release of Sage MAS 90 / 200, Sage is changing the way that additional users and additional modules can be purchased.  The effective date for some of these changes is Sep 7 and Sep 30 for others.

If you've been considering adding additonal MAS or CRM users, or have been considering adding new modules (Visual Integrator, for example), you should contact us quickly so that we can help you determine whether it makes sense to buy before or after the pricing model changes.  The timing of these changes is centered around the release of v4.5.  If you'd like to see what new features are included in the v4.5 release, please refer to last month's newsletter by clicking here.

Support Tip - Unified Login

Did you know that your Sage MAS 90 / 200 system can be configured to use Unified Login?  What does this mean and what are the issues surround it?

Here's the scenario . . .

You power on your computer in the morning and enter your login name and password.  You're automatically connected to the network, and most likely, no additional user name or password is required.  Now, you click on the Sage MAS 90 / 200 icon and launch the program.  It stops and ask you for your user name and password.  MAS can be configured to automatically login to MAS without requiring a user name and password.  As long as the machine's user login has been added to the MAS security system, no additional password is required.

IT managers often prefer this Unified Login approach as it means that users have 1 less password to remember.  When the network login account has been disabled, the user can no longer access MAS.

To enable Unified Login, go to Library Master | Setup | System Configuration and enable the Use Unified Login option.

A few points to consider before enabling this option:

  • make sure the PC login account is already set up as a MAS user
  • make sure that someone can log into the server as Administrator -- this account is required to upgrade your MAS system
  • you will not be able to go to a user's PC and run MAS 90 as a different user -- the login account used for the PC is also the MAS login

It's pretty cool and worth it if you have many users and find it difficult to manage MAS user accounts.

We look forward to your feedback and your ideas for future issues of our newsletter.  If you would like to contribute an article or suggest an article or support tip to a future newsletter, we'd love to have your contribution.  Please let us know how we can help you Get the Most from Your Sage MAS 90 / 200 Investment.

Sincerely,
