News from Sage Software |
Froom May 11 to 15, we will be attending the annual Sage partner conference in Nashville. It will be a week full of networking and updating our product knowledge. Memphis is just down the highway from Nashville, so I'm sure there will be Elvis updates for you next month!
There are two particular sessions that I am looking forward to.
- A hands-on session for the v4.4 release, which includes Inventory Management, Purchase Order Processing and Bill of Materials being updated to the 4.x standards
- A hands-on session to explore Sage KnowledgeSync (among other features, this Business Monitoring software can generate Crystal Reports and email them on a scheduled basis).

Your Feedback |
Last month's newsletter was focused on Disaster Recovery Planning. Sharon had an excellent idea about how to make a quick backup before running dangerous utilities in MAS. Create a batch file to copy your MAS data; using Custom Office, the batch file can be added as a button to your MAS 90 desktop. The backup can be run at the click of a button right from your Sage MAS 90 screen.
We have been busy making good on our promises under our Referral Program. Thank you to everyone -- some of you have received a dining gift card for introducing us to a potential client and others have received a free trip. Thank you! Tips and Tricks |
Lookup lists in Excel -- did you know, when you click on the lookup button in Sage MAS 90 / 200, you can export that list to Excel, simply by clicking on the Excel icon in the bottom right hand corner of the lookup list? This is available in Sage MAS 90 / 200 v4.0 and higher.
Crystal Reports Library -- we have created many custom reports for clients. If you'd like to see a sample of some of the reports that we have done or would like us to create one for you, let us know. Some samples include:
- Sales by Province, Ranked by Net Invoice
- Inventory on Hand and Sales Analysis
- Sales Analysis by Item
Auto Filter in Excel -- did you know, that the Auto Filter feature in Excel makes finding your data much easier? If you have a list of data, highlight the whole area, then go to Data | Filter | Auto Filter. You can use the drop down list to find records that match your selected criteria. This may sound confusing, but when you try this in Excel, it makes much more sense! |
Humor for the Golfer |
A man goes golfing with his friend, John. He arrives home several hours late. His wife asks, "What took you so long?" He replies, "Oh, honey, it was a horrible afternoon! On the third hole, John had a heart attack and died on the spot!" She says, "Oh, darling! It must have been awful for you."
The husband replies, "It was hell! Fifteen holes of hit the ball, drag John, hit the ball, drag John..."
