National Consumers League Tests Find Wood and Plastic Pallet Contamination, Group Calls for FDA Regulation |
Tests sponsored by The National Consumer League have discovered "alarming" levels of foodborne pathogens such as salmonella and E. coli and Listeria on pallets, according to an NCL release.
NCL is urging the FDA to do its own testing and set standards that will
help to ensure that pallets are cleaned and stored properly, thus
minimizing the possibility that they will be implicated in the spread of
foodborne illness. But is tertiary packaging such as the pallet really a food safety issue?

BRAMBLES is bullish about the Australian economy and the
company's outlook overseas was not as bad as some people perhaps
thought it should be.
Brambles'
business in Australia was in "good shape" and it was "pretty positive
and bullish" on the Australian economy, chief executive Tom Gorman
