Prayer

Bishop's Prayer

A Simple Prayer of Commitment:

Come Holy Spirit; fill me so that I can: Dedicate my heart to Christ Jesus, open my mind to seek truth and justice, lift up my hands to welcome the outcast and care for the broken, behold with my eyes the wonders of creation, hear with my ears the story of God in the world, and sing with my lips a song of God's love - with laughter and without worry.  And always in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

 - As shared in the Annual Meeting of the Convention 2011

ANNOUNCING THE NEW DIOCESAN WEBSITE!!!

new website home banner

We are happy to announce the release of the new website of the Diocese of Hawai'i, and it's at the same website address: www.episcopalhawaii.org.  (Note:  If you're going to the site via a bookmark, you may be viewing an old cached page and will have to manually type in the address.) Take a visit, and you will be greeted with a colorful slideshow of our islands in all their splendor!   Click on the pictures to be taken to a short description of each island and its churches.

We've listened to your comments and suggestions, and hope that this new site will be easy-to-navigate as you take advantage of all the information it contains in a user-friendly and visually pleasing format.  There is still a lot more to be added until it is completed, but all of the information from the old website (and much more) is there. Over the next few weeks, we will be working on uploading more info, fixing up the bugs and links, and welcome your feedback as we fine-tune the website.

A few of the new features that we hope you will find useful are:

The release of this new website represents the beginning of expanded interconnectivity between all of the churches in the Diocese.  Through an arrangement with Digital Faith, a web management company, churches will be able to create a website from one of three templates (including the new diocesan website template), share live feeds of upcoming events with registration and payment capabilities, generate member directories, and much more!  Already have a website?  No problem!  You can maintain your current website and address and still tap into some of the great features, such as event listings, with very minimal change to your current site.  Best of all, the website and services are free-of-charge and link into the diocesan site!

For more information about getting a website set up, you may contact the Digital Faith representative Dave Hagan, and be sure to let him know you are with the Diocese of Hawai'i.

For information on the web design, layout, and event content, e-mail Sybil Nishioka, Editor and Communications Contractor for the Diocese, and for additions and corrections to diocesan information, forms and documents, e-mail Irina Martikainen, Secretary to the Bishop.

HAPPY SURFING!
