INTERPRETER SPOTLIGHT:
| Lenny Barragan
|
From a Coronary Care Unit Manager:
"We had a Spanish speaking patient who was critically ill, and we were discussing end-of-life issues with her and her family. (Lenny) was very caring and helped them understand. Best of all, the patient and her family said Lenny's help allowed them to be" at peace" with their decisions. (The patient) is currently on the Palliative Care Unit in a bed facing the lake, as was her wish."
Congratulations, Lenny! We're very lucky to have you on our team!

JANUARY HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHT:
| Duarte Day / Dominican Republic
| The Dominican Republic celebrates Duarte Day on January 26th. Juan Pablo Duarte, often referred to as "padre de el patria" or "father of the country," is considered the architect of the Dominican Republic and its independence from Haitian Rule in 1844.

| Elizabeth Colon |
2010 was a great year for Metaphrasis. We added a new site (our Metaphrasis Loft), increased our interpreter base to over 80, and added some key players to our team who are already raising our services to new heights.
What's new for 2011? A solid year of quality services, valuable and informative trainings, and expanded consulting services for our clients. In addition to our monthly Medical Interpreter Training, we're working hard to bring in speakers from the Cancer Federation, Diabetes Association, Red Cross, and more.
Our goal, as always, is to help you communicate, collaborate, and connect. Thank you for taking a moment to see what we have in store for you this month at Metaphrasis.
