In the Spotlight
California Retrofit Inc., (CRI) was one of our 2011 Authorized Agent Recognition Awardees. We recently sat down with its owner and CEO, Richard Mitten (3rd from left), for a few questions.
Tell us about your company
CRI was founded in March of 1986. The company is involved in 3 basic businesses - a large lighting maintenance division that serves over 400 customers ranging from grocery to aerospace; a division that focuses on lighting retrofit projects in all of California; and a utility solutions division that has delivered the Direct Install Program from its inception in 2003. We have 61 full-time employees.
How long have you participated in our offerings?
The company has participated in the Express and Customized Solutions offerings since their inception two decades ago. We have successfully used them as a means to deliver affordable and fast paying projects that help our customers save energy and money.
What SCE resources do you use?
We are currently using multiple resources. We make sure we participate in most, if not all, of the online webinars and to subscribe to the E-Newsletter so that we are on top of the latest information. Sometimes they serve as reminders of past, yet still relevant information. But, I have to say there are a couple of resources that stand out...

Express and Customized Solutions Reminder
Incentives for T12 Lighting Basecase Expire at End of June!
Express Installed Applications, Express Pending Installation Reports, and Customized Installation Reports with T12 lighting as a basecase must be received by SCE to qualify for incentives. Even applicable T12 projects that have received pre-approval for On-Bill Financing, Customized Solutions, or Express Pending Solutions need to be completed, with all paperwork submitted by this deadline. No exceptions or extensions will be granted.

Express Solutions Update
New Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Solutions
Effective May 2, 2012, the following seven (7) Air Conditioning (AC) and Refrigeration (RF) solutions were added to the Express Solutions offering:
Water Cooled Chiller's Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- AC-14365, VSD on Cooling Tower Fan Control
- AC-91987, VSD on Chilled Water Pump Control
Packaged Unit Economizer - Repair & Retrofit
- AC-89808, Restore Degraded Economizer
- AC-60978, Package System Retrofit Economizer Replacing System with no Economizer
Floating Head and Suction Pressure Controls
- RF-51222, Floating Saturated Suction Temperature Controls
- RF-31355, Floating Saturated Condensing Temperature Controls (Air-Cooled)
- RF-41488, Floating Saturated Condensing Temperature Controls (Evaporative-Cooled)

Customized Solutions Updates
Soon to Expire Solution
Effective December 31, 2012, the following Customized solution will expire:
- OE-71521- Data Center Server Virtualization @ $0.09/kWh and $100/kW
Installation Report (IR) must be received on or before December, 31, 2012, to qualify for incentives.
