Hurry! Don't Miss out on T12 Lighting Incentives Before They Expire on June 30, 2012
Southern California Edison (SCE) currently offers incentives through Express and Customized Solutions for the retrofit of T12 linear fluorescent lamps. As a result of a federal mandate raising the efficiency baselines for lighting (see more below), these incentives are ending June 30, 2012. After this date, existing T12 lighting retrofitted to more efficient lighting systems will not be eligible for these incentives.
Customers who have a large number of older T12 lamps should consider retrofitting before the current incentives expire. To be eligible, the terms and conditions for the new T8 and T5 lamps and ballasts listed in pages 4 through 15 of the Solutions Directory (click here) must be met. All supporting documentation and installations must be submitted to SCE by June 30, 2012.
Customers needing more information may call SCE's Energy Efficiency Call Center at 800-736-4777.
More on Federal Mandate and Impacts:
On September 14, 2009, the Department of Energy amended the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. Through the federal mandate, higher efficiency standards for lighting manufacturing are now required. As a result, higher lighting efficiency baselines are now an industry standard. Impacts are still being evaluated. Additional lighting solutions may be identified to expire or lighting technologies may be identified to have their eligibility requirements modified. Furthermore, incentives for select solutions may be reduced in the second quarter of 2012. Information will be provided when available. |
