Greetings!mooli

Wow, what an amazing couple of months. Time has flown by and we are already at half term.  (Thank goodness, we hear the school staff say!)  Not only have we been busy delivering trainings such as our very well received Understanding Trauma course, but we have also attended some great training.  The weekend training Jogo provided with Professor Mooli Lahad was fantastic. We are more than pleased with the 100% positive feedback that the Jogo course received.   Professor Mooli Lahad came with his Dramatherapist wife Noga and they jointly enthused, played, taught and inspired us.  Alongside this Sedgebrook Hall was an amazing venue that provided us with huge quantities of scrumptious food and catering for our needs leaving us feeling full and nurtured.  Thankfully, Noga got us playing, so the calories were worked off!

newsProfessor Mooli Lahad and Noga have agreed to come back to Northampton in September 2011 to deliver further training on trauma and working creatively with children, young people and their families. (The dates will be confirmed shortly)

newsJogo has been given prestigious approval by Professor Mooli Lahad to deliver the initial BASIC Ph six piece story assessment methodology.  (An easy to use tool to assess the different coping strategies children, young people and adults use)  We want to thank him for his confidence and faith in Jogo to deliver his assessment technique.

If you would like to know more about Professor Mooli Lahad's training and the BASIC Ph training, please contact us on info@jogo.uk.com or go to our website www.jogo.uk.com

We look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,

What is Play Therapy?
Do you want to know more?
Play Therapy is children and young people's equivalent to adult verbal counselling or therapy.child & adult sitting   It is a process that allows the child to explore any issues past and present that are currently affecting the child's life.  Play Therapy enables the child to access their own resources and bring about growth and change.

As noted on the British Association of Play Therapists website,

Play Therapy is an effective therapy that helps children modify their behaviours, clarify their self-concept and build healthy relationships. In Play Therapy, children enter into a dynamic relationship with the therapist that enables them to express, explore and make sense of their difficult and painful experiences. Play Therapy helps children find healthier ways of communicating, develop fulfilling relationships, increase resiliency and facilitate emotional literacy."

Featured Game

Jogo Tool Box Training Courses

Featured Game

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

The players will each be given a mirror to hold. They look into it and chant:

Mirror, Mirror on the wall

Who is the most........one of all?

The players then make a face with the emotion that you have suggested e.g. angry, happy,
pleased, scared etc. Prepare to end with a complimentary face e.g. handsome, beautiful,
kind etc. Going around the group, ask them to tell the mirror what makes them feel that
way. If players find this difficult, ask their neighbour to say something positive for them.

What are the benefits of playing this game?

  • develop emotional recognition and language
  • develop co-operation skills
  • to develop play skills
  • develop group work skills
  • to have fun
