Greetings!
If you haven't already, please "like" us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. We have become more active in social media and are always on the lookout for interesting dog related articles, news and funny pics or videos that we share with our followers. Facebook is also a great place to drop us a quick question, share a story, article or a picture of your pooch. We'd love to see you there! We had a terrific time at the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival earlier this month! The snow and freezing temperatures decided to sit out this one, but that was ok, as the Klub was there with something a little different this year. A special thanks goes out to the Winter Carnival Committee for giving our idea a try and for arranging the fencing for a temporary leash free park! Members of our board were there all weekend along some wonderful volunteers and it was a huge success! It was a little muddy, but we had some very happy and very tired pooches by Sunday afternoon. Be sure to check out the photos in the gallery. We'll definitely do it again next year!.
Mark your calendars and plan to join us for our 2012 K9 Klub Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 7:30pm. On the agenda is a discussion of plans for the coming year and a short presentation from Richmond Hill's Parks, Recreation and Culture department regarding the progress of the new leash-free area in Phyllis Rawlinson Park. Please keep in mind we have a couple of seats available on our board if you would like commit some time and get more involved in our projects and causes this year. Email dwalker@rhk9klub.ca for more information.
Planning is underway for this year's Pooch Party! If you'd like to help out on the planning committee, please drop us a line. Also, if anyone knows of a good DJ or MC that does public events like ours, a recommendation would be most appreciated!
We also post news and updates to our blog every week or so, and then highlight them with links in the recent blog posts section of the monthly newsletter. On our radar this month is Town Council's deliberations regarding Animal Services for the Town. We recommend you follow this story as it progresses as it involves all of us as both dog/cat owners and ratepayers.
See you at the park!
