9 Habits for a Longer Life
| In the last few issues, I have been pontificating about what I call the SUCCESS plan for weight control. Well, I'm taking a break from that this issue to tell you about a book which details the 9 common habits of the longest-lived population groups in the world. The book is The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who've Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner. The book was published in 2008 by National Geogrphic.
The 9 Habits are:
- engage in physical activity as a regular part of daily life
- have a mission or purpose to give meaning to your life
- enjoy life - slow down, rest, work less, play more
- stop eating when you are 80% full
- eat more fruits and vegetables, less protein and processed foods
- drink red wine in moderation
- create a healthy social network
- participate in a spiritual life
- prioritize family
These should sound familiar to Habituator readers, and to SUCCESS formula followers. To learn more, go to www.bluezones.com.

| News of the Month | |
Star of the Month is Trainer Linda. Linda was voted one of the Top 5 Trainers in Memphis, according to the May issue of Memphis Magazine. HH clients who have experienced her approach will agree.
Jeanne, thanks for all the birthday cards. I'm trying to get RR to consider becoming a Trainer - she can handle the counting part, it's the loving exercise part that stops her. PatB comes in for extra "preventive" sessions before trips back home to New Orleans - probably a very good idea for me as well when going to Charleston.
