President's Message
This is it! This is my last president's message. I have had the privilege of being the Fremont PTA president as for the last two years and I will now pass on the figurative gavel to Michelle Anderson. It has been an amazing, frustrating, exhausting, inspiring two years. I have had kids at Fremont for the past eight years and for all but two of those years have served on the Executive Board. I have been consistently amazed and inspired by this wonderful school and dynamic volunteer organization and have been proud to be a part of it.
A big huge thank you the incredible 2009-2010 board for their support, energy and inspiration: - Danielle Chung
- Gail Schack
- Jennifer Williams
- Marky Morel
- Michelle Walker
- Karen Victor
- Elizabeth Lambert
- Kelly Sullivan
- Jennifer Ainley
- Michelle Pryor
- Carol Mort
- Matt Hammond
Michelle Anderson has been right hand for the last two years and I couldn't rise to the challenge of this office with out her. She will be a wonderful President. I have nothing but gratitude, respect and fondness for her.
Thank you to our membership for allowing me to serve in this capacity. Although I will not have a child at Fremont next year, most of you know where to find me and I will continue support this school and the PTA. I will however be back in September 2011 when my youngest starts Kindergarten.
I hope to see you all at our Founders Day/ Old Fashioned Spaghetti dinner on 6/4/2010 and at our End of Year Celebration at the Wine Crush on 6/8/2010. Have a wonderful summer! |

Principal's Message
The Fremont Falcons continue to soar. Each year, the schools in the state are ranked by the California Department of Education based on their academic performance on a set of standardized test scores. Schools are divided into 10 performance based groups of equal size. The highest performing group receives a rank of 10, while the lowest performing group gets a rank of 1. In the Long Beach Unified School District, five schools earned the highest rank of 10 with Fremont Elementary being one of the four elementary schools receiving this distinction. Congratulations to the skilled teaching staff and to the Fremont families for your partnership and support in the education process of our students.
Congratulations goes out to fifth grader Julissa Ramirez who is Fremont's Most Inspiring Student for this year. Since the day she began at Fremont Elementary to this day, Julissa has radiated a warm personality, positive attitude, and perseverance while not letting any obstacle get in the way of her goals and dreams. Way to go, Julissa, and continue your strong efforts.
Also, a special note of appreciation is being sent out to our PTA President Susan Tanaka. You have gone beyond the call of duty in your service as PTA President these past two years. Your leadership and spirit have greatly benefited our students and school. Your work and accomplishments far exceed the responsibilities of PTA President. Thank you for your many contributions and care for Fremont Elementary School.
As we come to the close of another school year, thank you to the Fremont families for your participation this year as we work together for our students. It is a privilege and pleasure working with your children. Once again there have been many incredible activities this year including music, drama, science, art, chess, Spanish, service projects, fundraisers, and family fun. The Fremont community is a special treasure and one to be cherished. To our fifth graders moving on to middle school, all the best to you in your future endeavors. Remember the foundation you have built and the memorable times you have had at Fremont. To all of our families, have a great remainder of the school year and enjoy a refreshing summer. |
