Ecumenical Advocacy Days this weekend in DC

United Methodists and other people of faith from across the country will be rallying in Washington D.C. this weekend about the important issue of immigration. Join United Methodist Bishop Minerva Carcaņo of the Desert Southwest Conference, leaders from United Methodist Women and the General Board of Church and Society, and concerned church members from across our Connection. 

Buses will leave this Saturday from several locations in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. For more information, please contact Jessica Palys or Stephen Smith.

Denman Award nominations open

We are accepting nominations for the Denman Evangelism Award.  This award is presented annually to a United Methodist Lay, Clergy and Youth person in each Annual Conference for outstanding work in Christian Evangelism. Please send nominations to pastor@roscoeumc.org by April 15.

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung invites you on an interfaith journey this spring.  The tour will visit Jewish, Jain, Buddhist, Baha'i, Hindu, and Muslim houses of worship, as well as a Christian church for Sunday morning worship.

Celebrate 10th Anniversary of MMDC

The Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, our drop-off point for disaster relief supplies, is celebrating its tenth year of ministry and service.

On Saturday, May 1, make relief kits, tour the facility and share a meal with volunteers across Illinois. For more information, visit the MMDC website.
 
Oak Park cluster performing joint Good Friday cantata

"The Seven Last Words of Christ" by Theodore Dubois will be presented by a combined choir of area United Methodist churches, with professional soloists. This sacred cantata will be a part of the Good Friday Service to be held on Friday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. Organist and Music Director Michael Shawgo will accompany the choir on our historic 1925 Skinner organ.  A free-will offering will be collected to support the disaster relief effort of UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) in Haiti.

Comedy, drama and documentary forms will be presented, and opportunity for informal conversation will follow the screenings.
