EPA Enacts New Regulations for Residential Renovation, Repair & Painting
Effective
April 22, 2010
Jeff Titus has earned a Lead Safety for Renovation Repair and Painting Certification with the State of Connecticut in response to the new EPA regulation for the Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Program (RRP).
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently enacted a regulation affecting contractors performing renovation work in residential dwellings or child-occupied facilities built before 1978. After April 22, 2010, federal law requires contractors to be certified and to use lead-safe work practices. In addition, all living places built before 1978 must be tested by a Certified Renovator for the presence of lead on painted or finished surfaces when renovating, repairing or painting.
