You've Been Busted!!

Every year Joan and I look for the right aid to help us through the Lenten Season. Usually we are looking for something we can reflect upon together. There are hundreds of possibilities but this year I am looking at the Lenten Calendar provided by BustedHalo.com. It may not be for you, but it caught my eye with this video which associates Ash Wednesday and Lent with the need for Community.   How Marianist of our Paulist friends who produce this great resource.

Check it out and have a fertile time with your forty days in the desert.

The most valuable/interesting part is under Resources/Monthly Formation.

Thank-you to those who have responded to our annual appeal for MLNNA SUPPORT    Your contributions support projects:

  * to assist lay community development (MLFI),

  * social justice through Marianist Social Justice Collaborative (MSJC)

  * our administrative office support which allowed us to print and distribute the new brochures on Characteristics of Lay Marianists.

This infrastructure also allowed us to quickly collect and distribute funds to our brothers

and sisters in Haiti following the earthquake.

Please continue your inspirational, community and missionary work and give generously to support MLNNA. A gift of $10.00 a month or a one time gift suitable to your income will help us do more to support our Marianist ministry projects.

Editor's Reflection  By Jacqui Griswold

As I enter Lent this week, it is a time of reflection for me.  My dad had heart surgery March 2nd and is still in the hospital with complications.   My siblings and their families have been faithfully coming the hospital and my mom and dad have had very little time alone.  I think it does help pass the time to talk with others.

I have been thinking about planting seeds as this is the first thing my dad wants to do when he returns home.  He likes to start seeds indoors for his garden.   In addition, despite the cold weather the crocus know that it is almost time for Spring and their green leaves and small colorful flowers pop out of the brown/snow covered ground. Each year it surprises me how much hope for the coming warmth they give.

Many of us 'plant seeds' throughout our days by reaching out to others or sharing with someone in need.  You many never see the fruit of those actions but the ripples go out.

May you see that the seeds you plant during Lent are as important as what you "give up".
