NCSY/JSUStaff Highlights
Pictured above from left to right: Bari Girnun, Jen Coane, Miriam Goldglantz, R' Joe Goldglantz, R' Yossi Klugman, Yair Walton, Daniel Mesa, R' Steven Burg, R' Nahum Zak Todd Cohn, and R' Ben Gonsher. (Take a moment to click on the names above to friend our team on FB.) Rabbi Steven Burg, the Founder of Jewish Student Union (JSU) joined club leaders from across South Florida for one express purpose - to create the highest caliber programming possible for the Jewish teens of South Florida. Participants shared and learned best practices and brainstormed and innovated new models of engagement. "What we did was harnessed the creative genius of an incredibly dynamic and talented group of informal educators. This is an exciting time to be part of NCSY and JSU. The growth we are experiencing is explosive and that is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our team." said Todd Cohn, Executive Director of Southern NCSY. There are over 30 JSU clubs canvassing South Florida from Kendall to Jupiter and from the Beach to west Broward. If you know of a school that has a Jewish population that would enjoy free pizza and a visit from a cool club leader with a engaging Jewish program on a weekly or monthly basis please let us know. |
HighlightsAround the Region
Atlanta
Atlanta NCSY announces the opening of our newest JSU club at West Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia, under the leadership of Rabbi Chaim Neidtich and club president is Rivka Jacobs.
Our very own Rabbi Chaim Neiditch was one of the guest speakers and panelists at Oglethorpe Univiersity's 9/11 Memorial. Rabbi Neiditch spoke about the Jewish perspective on dealing with crisis and lessons we can learn from the tragedy.
Jacksonville
Jacksonville launched its Latte & Learning Tuesday night. Teens were treated to frappuccinos, lattes and fresh baked cookies as the round tabled discussion began. NCSYers prepared questions to present and before long, questions were flying and intense discussions overtook the otherwise quiet cafe.
Savannah
