Our Voices of Conscience Chorus will sponsor an all-Earl Robinson concert celebrating his Centennial. We'll do classic songs such as "Joe Hill," "Black and White," "The Quilting Bee," "Flying Squadron," "The House I Live In," "Spring Song," "Abe Lincoln," and we'll also do the famous "Ballad for Americans" with the solo role performed by world-class artist KB Solomon. If this is the kind of music you identify with, please plan to join us for a wonderful experience of immersion in Earl's music. Admission will be $12. Light refreshments included. Hadasa is a hit! Thanks to your attendance, her Conversational Yiddish group is thriving. We've gotten people's Yiddish speaking muscles flexing with world-recognized Yiddish teacher, scholar, translator and raconteuse Hadasa Cytrynowicz. Originally from Lodz, and later a long-time resident of Brazil, Hadasa brings a wealth of experience and stories, songs, proverbs and sayings, poetry and interesting topics for discussion to her group. Each session is an hour and 15 minutes.

Keep your Yiddish kite flying by attending this group! Admission is by voluntary donation. All levels of Yiddish are welcome. Kumt arayn! Far vos nisht?
Social Action Notes

Extend Unemployment Benefits!
Here's some scary news: Millions of America's unemployed job-seekers will be cut off from federal jobless benefits starting Nov 30 unless Congress takes urgent action to renew and extend those benefits through 2011.

For administrative reasons, states actually need to shut down their extended unemployment programs in advance of the federal government's Nov 30 cut-off, which means some people will be spending Thanksgiving without food on the table unless Congress acts next week (and they're only in town for a few days).

Blood Drive in San Gabriel Valley
Temple Beth David of the San Gabriel Valley is proud to announce a blood drive with Cedars-Sinai on Sun Dec 5, from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm in the social hall.
