The Rev. John Crabtree arrived at his new appointment in the Cleveland District on June 22. At daybreak on July 22, he received a "frantic call" from one of his new parishioners: Jones Chapel had been spray painted in the middle of night with offensive language and symbols, some even blaspheming God.
"It made me sick to my stomach -- and angry," the pastor said.

Johnson City Press features Saturday sacrificers A group of men from Telford UMC wanted to do something for their community, so they committed to give up one Saturday a month to help people with their home-repair projects. Telford recently won a $2,000 Margaret Loving grant (see story above) to help support the ministry.
